🥩 LAB GROWN MEAT vs. FAST FOOD & PROCESSED FOOD
🥩 Lab-grown meat is a valid concern, but please don’t forget that we have been eating McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s, etc. for years — and it’s BEEN negatively impacting our health.
Some of the products we currently consume on a daily basis contain ingredients and additives that may raise legitimate health concerns. From a health perspective, if we are still regularly eating at some of these fast-food restaurants, is one really better than the other?
Not to mention, we are already consuming “bioengineered” foods, meaning scientists have altered the genetic material of that ingredient.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t question lab-grown meat. We absolutely should. We should question where our food comes from, how it is produced, what is being added to it, and what we are putting into our bodies.
But let’s also be consistent with that same energy when it comes to the foods we are already consuming.
Whole foods. Cooking at home. Growing your own garden. Local farmers. Farmers markets. These are the better options when they are available and accessible to you.
Learn to read labels and, if you don’t understand something, research what the information and ingredients actually mean on the labels of the items you’re buying.
Get to know your local farmers and the people you choose to buy your food from so you have more awareness of how your food is grown and produced.
Realistically, we can’t control every single outlier when it comes to what we consume.
But the things we can control?
We can work to improve.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about making better choices where we can, becoming more informed, and taking more ownership of what we put into our bodies. 🌱
Progression, not perfection.
