Shaunti Feldhahn has some great relationship books I recommend when counseling couples. I think this quote sums up Relationship 101 on where to start… imagine beginning with Kindness. Interestingly, the Fruits of The Holy Spirit are:
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, KINDNESS, Gentleness and Self Control. Hmmm …. Interesting thought don’t you think. So that old saying “A little bit of Love goes a long long way.” and when you show kindness, you show love.

Kindness cares about the best interests of others, and it doesn’t shy away from a challenge.

Henry Cloud has written some great books. One of the books he has written I suggest often to my clients is “Boundaries.” Having to set healthy boundaries in any relationship is not always easy, but necessary in order for emotional healing to take place. Seek out professional help. Don’t suffer in silence.

Letting go is hard, but staying in toxicity is even harder.

Couples who are proactive in seeking help before a problem gets bigger than themselves will thrive in their relationship with each other as opposed to getting stuck and being stagnant in their connection. Don’t put off getting help!
