Chive Blossom Butter 🌱💜🧈
Our chives just bloomed! I’m always looking for new ways to use the whole plant 🌿✨
This chive blossom butter is one of my NEW favorite spring staples: fresh, floral, and so easy to make! (Under 5 minutes)
I love chives—not only do they make a great garnish, they are also naturally rich in antioxidants and are packed with vitamin K!
Ingredients:
8 oz unsalted butter (room temp)
5-6 chive blossoms
1 Tbsp fresh chives, minced
1 Tbsp lemon zest (about 1 medium lemon)
Pinch of flakey sea salt
1/2 tsp honey (optional)
Directions:
Place butter in a medium mixing bowl.
Fold in chopped chives, chive blossoms, lemon zest, sea salt, and honey (if using) Before adding the blossoms, gently separate them with your fingers so the florets distribute evenly throughout the butter.
Mix well with a spatula until fully combined.
Transfer to a small jar or shape into a log using parchment paper. Chill for 1–2 hours until firm.
Spread on toast, bagels, or warm bread and enjoy ✨
