Wellness habits that actually work 👟☀️📖

I’ve realized that the most effective and sustainable habits are the most simple.

Back to the basics. Focus on the small things, they add up. These are my daily practices 🫶🏾

Morning routine! How you start your day matters 🤓

🌞 Sun in the eyes for hormone balance
💧 Water before caffeine always, wake your body gently
🧘🏾‍♀️ Stretch like your body depends on it (spoiler: it does)
🍉 Balanced brekkie (you need proper energy for the day hello!)

Afternoon mood boost 🐣

🥤 Hydrate (with fruit & electrolytes — smoothies are my fav!)
🚶🏾‍♀️ Step outside for some fresh air, your mind will thank you
🥙 Eat veggies with whatever you have for lunch

Midday break 🤸🏾‍♀️🍫🥜

🥕 Eat your nutrients, think about where you are in your cycle and what will make your body feel its best to get through the day!

Evening wind down 🌙

🏋🏾‍♀️ I prefer working out at night, helps me sleep better
🍲 Don’t eat your biggest meal at night (it could interrupt sleep) & we need optimal sleep for hormone health
🫖 Tea for digestion, feels like a warm hug
📖 Read, journal, watch a show—whatever helps you relax and destress, but mix it up sometimes!

Reddit just reminded me why we need more guys like this 🫶🏾

His bestie was having with the worst period of her life and he actually asked what he could do to help. Not “she’ll be fine” or “it’s just cramps”.. he wanted to know how to actually support her. So cute 🥰

This is a great example of ways guys can show up and helps us normalize talking about periods.

Dark chocolate, heating pad, ginger tea, hydrating foods, magnesium and just asking what she needs. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference during those tough moments.

Foods I eat vs. avoid for better periods 🩸✨

Most period advice tells you what to eat. Nobody talks about what to avoid eating to help reduce the pain.

Here’s what actually helps me feel better during my cycle:

✔️ Salmon, quinoa, tea, cruciferous veggies & leafy greens, warm soups, fruit, avocado, dark chocolate, almonds & healthy snacks, sweet potatoes and beet juice

These foods can help ease cramps, bloating, promote blood flow, increase energy levels & lower inflammation.

Your body’s always talking to you. This year we’re actually listening 🫶🏾

Foods I eat vs. avoid for better periods 🩸✨

Here’s what I AVOID to feel better during my cycle:

✖️ Caffeine, dairy, matcha 🥲, fried foods, white potatoes, sugary drinks, processed meats, pizza, breads/pastries, candy/sweets

These foods can cause inflammation, bloating, discomfort, block iron absorption, and make cramps worse.

setting up my week for success starts with cycle syncing 🩸🌸✨

Cycle syncing is when you align your daily routine to where you are in your menstrual cycle (we have 4 phases!) Tracking your cycle is the best way to start.

🌹 menstrual
🌺 follicular
☀️ ovulatory
⚡️luteal

have you tried it and noticed it works for you?

NYC Highlights | good eats & healthy habits 🏙️🥗👟

Exploring the city doesn’t mean you can’t stay on track with your health goals. Even while traveling, I try to find the balance between having fun and maintaining my routine.

Here’s a quick recap of how I spent the weekend in NYC:

👟 City strolls
— Walking the Brooklyn Bridge was (cold) but surprisingly energizing lol. This was my second time doing it and it’s a cool way to get in those steps and even save money on transportation.

🍎Food Recs
— We tried a couple places, but these two came on top for me. I’ve had a thousand times but this time tried their new Chicken Salad Bacon Club wrap.. omg delicious and filling and high in protein!! I’m craving one now tbh.

— One of the best decisions I made was grabbing a quick bite from restaurant. I wanted something simple, flavorful, and balanced (protein & fiber) so I got the Chicken & Veggie Skewers with Chimichurri Sauce and a side of Sweet Potatoes. Soo well seasoned, juicy and the sauce was perfection. 😋

🫐Oakberry
— There used to be a location in Philly, but they closed down 😭 We loved it then and couldn’t wait to have again in NYC. I’m obsessed with their new matcha smoothie base and pistachio cream! so yum and an easy way to meet my fruit intake goals

🌆Exploring Harlem on foot
— Harlem is truly a gem. Loved the history, sights and walkability. Next time, I’d love to try the local food spots. Can’t wait to go back!

🦷 Dental wellness check-up
— Genuinely the most luxurious dental experience I’ve had. felt more like a spa than a clinic. I enjoyed amenities like a gold eye mask, heated towelette and signature lip balm during my session. If you’re ever in Hudson Yards, this is the spot to go to for your dental needs.

📌Save this for your next trip to the city!
