Healthy Baddie on a Budget • Pt 1 🥗🛒 💅🏾 💰

One of my favorite healthier soda brands was on sale at Grocery Outlet! It’s the Pineapple Paradise flavor from Olipop. 🍍✨

First of all, love this store downnn. You can always find a great deal in any aisle. I believe this grocery store chain started in California, but overtime they’ve been opening up more locations on the East Coast!

I’ve become really good at shopping around to find thee BEST prices for healthier food options and swaps. With everyone feeling the impacts of this economic changes, I thought it would be helpful to share my tips and recommendations with you. This series is going to help you discover so many healthy options that are STILL affordable because wellness shouldn’t be a luxury. NYC Highlights | good eats & healthy habits 🏙️🥗👟

Exploring the city doesn’t mean you can’t stay on track with your health goals. Even while traveling, I try to find the balance between having fun and maintaining my routine.

Here’s a quick recap of how I spent the weekend in NYC:

👟 City strolls
— Walking the Brooklyn Bridge was (cold) but surprisingly energizing lol. This was my second time doing it and it’s a cool way to get in those steps and even save money on transportation.

🍎Food Recs
— We tried a couple places, but these two came on top for me. I’ve had a thousand times but this time tried their new Chicken Salad Bacon Club wrap.. omg delicious and filling and high in protein!! I’m craving one now tbh.

— One of the best decisions I made was grabbing a quick bite from restaurant. I wanted something simple, flavorful, and balanced (protein & fiber) so I got the Chicken & Veggie Skewers with Chimichurri Sauce and a side of Sweet Potatoes. Soo well seasoned, juicy and the sauce was perfection. 😋

🫐Oakberry
— There used to be a location in Philly, but they closed down 😭 We loved it then and couldn’t wait to have again in NYC. I’m obsessed with their new matcha smoothie base and pistachio cream! so yum and an easy way to meet my fruit intake goals

🌆Exploring Harlem on foot
— Harlem is truly a gem. Loved the history, sights and walkability. Next time, I’d love to try the local food spots. Can’t wait to go back!

🦷 Dental wellness check-up
— Genuinely the most luxurious dental experience I’ve had. felt more like a spa than a clinic. I enjoyed amenities like a gold eye mask, heated towelette and signature lip balm during my session. If you’re ever in Hudson Yards, this is the spot to go to for your dental needs.

📌Save this for your next trip to the city!

Looking for home remedies for menstrual cramps? 🩸 These are some of my favs:

Heating pad • the OG, literally a girl’s best friend

Herbal tincture • you guys know I love taking Healing to help balance my hormones and experience less painful periods. this made my periods more manageable and I can’t recommend it enough

Gentle movement • low-intensity is key: stretching, walking & yoga are my go-to’s during this time of the month. the best thing you can do to ease cramps is to open your hips and keep your muscles relaxed

Iron-rich tea • dandelion tea is nutrient-rich, supports liver detoxification, reduces inflammation, eases bloating & supports healthy iron levels. for my anemic girls: get you some

Abdominal massage • a couple drops of soothing body oil and circular motions can ease pelvic pain, bloating, release muscle tension and promote lymphatic flow ~

CBD balm • an all-natural healing cream to ease muscle and joint pain. first cbd cream I’ve ever used and it works so well. a little goes a long way!

Supporting your gut in each phase of your cycle can make periods, mood, and energy feel a lot more manageable 🩸🌸

Menstrual (bleed - Winter):
Support your gut with warm, easy‑to‑digest meals, anti‑inflammatory foods, and plenty of water to help with cramps, bloating, and fatigue.

Follicular (spring):
As energy rises, focus on colourful plants, fiber, and fermented foods to feed your good gut bacteria and support healthy estrogen balance.

Ovulation (summer):
Choose lighter, nutrient‑dense meals and hydrate well to support digestion and reduce mid‑cycle bloating or tenderness.

Luteal (fall - PMS):
Higher progesterone can slow digestion, so lean on fibre, magnesium‑rich foods, and gentle movement to keep things regular and ease PMS symptoms.
