Dr. Dan Monti

Dr. Dan Monti Daniel Monti, MD is an integrative health doctor and host of The Dr. Monti Show.

In Tapestry of Health: Weaving Wellness into Your Life Through the New Science of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Monti and Dr. Bazzan present a step-by-step plan for this next generation of medicine through evidence-based restorative treatments, nutritional science and healthy lifestyle practices. Artfully integrating cutting-edge technologies—fMRI brain imaging, bone density diagnostics and DNA sequencing—with time-honored approaches—loving relationships, walks in the woods and plant-based meals—they invite you to enjoy a fuller, healthier life in service to Plato's holistic understanding that "the part can never be well unless the whole is well." This approach marks a significant change in how we view wellness; a shift from seeking medical care only when we are sick to one when we mindfully take responsibility for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Monti and Dr. Bazzan recognize the importance of kindness, gratitude and purpose, and emphasize the importance of your relationship with your own doctor evolving from being your caretaker to being your partner. Tapestry of Health offers you a path to a new kind of healthcare that is curative, preventive and transformative.

In a newly published study from my team at and the , we used integrated PET-MRI to investigate the effects of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) in people with multiple sclerosis (MS).

This data is the first of its kind, and what we found was exciting 💥

After approximately four months, participants receiving NAC alongside their standard MS care showed measurable changes in how different areas of the brain were communicating.

🧠Importantly, some of these brain changes were associated with improvements in cognition and attention.

Our specialized PET-MRI scanner allowed us to visualize both the anatomy of the brain and the way it functions, and track changes in both over time from the NAC treatment.

Though the results are encouraging and intriguing, this is an early study and more research is needed to evaluate whether NAC has a role in the care of MS patients.

This builds upon more than a decade of our investigations of NAC in neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease, traumatic brain injury, and now MS.

I meet a lot of people who are highly engaged in their health.

They track:

▪▪ Sleep
▪▪ Glucose
▪▪ HRV
▪▪ Fitness data

But the brain—the system driving all of it—is often the least understood.

The question isn’t whether you have data.

It’s whether you have meaningful insight.

At the the Optimal Brain Health Assessment integrates the most advanced brain imaging, neurological evaluation, and precision medicine in one review.

So instead of guessing, you get a clearer understanding of how your brain is functioning, and more importantly, what to do next.

Because optimization without understanding is just experimentation.
