🌿 Three Classical Ayurvedic Practices for Your Daily Routine — Part 1

Dinacarya is the Ayurvedic approach to establishing a regular daily routine in support of maintaining health.

Regularity in sleep, meals, activity, and exercise creates a rhythm within which we can better observe our body’s needs and make appropriate adjustments.

This doesn’t necessarily mean everyone should follow exactly the same schedule. Ayurveda recognizes the importance of the individual, their circumstances, and their current state of health.

The goal is not perfection or rigidity, but developing a daily rhythm that is appropriate and sustainable for you.

Health is something we maintain every day—not only something we address when we become unwell.

🌿 Three quick tips for better digestion — Part 4

Classical Ayurveda looks at digestion as a process influenced by much more than the food itself.

The timing of our meals, the way we approach eating, the freshness and preparation of our food, and our individual digestive capacity all have a place in the Ayurvedic understanding of digestion.

Rather than simply asking, “Is this food healthy?” Ayurveda asks us to consider whether it is appropriate for us, at this time, in this way.

It’s not only about what you eat—it’s also about how you digest it.

🌿 Three quick tips for better digestion — Part 3

In Classical Ayurveda, foods are not always considered in isolation.

The concept of Viruddha Āhāra, or incompatible food, is discussed extensively in the classical Ayurvedic medical texts. Ayurveda considers that certain combinations may interfere with digestion and assimilation and, when consumed improperly or over time, may contribute to disease.

This is one of the ways the Ayurvedic understanding of food differs from simply asking whether an individual food is “healthy” or “unhealthy.”

The combination, preparation, timing, quantity, and the individual’s capacity to digest all matter.

It’s not only about what you eat—it’s also about how you digest it.

🌿 Three quick tips for better digestion — Part 2

Classical Ayurveda places considerable attention on our relationship with food—not simply the nutritional qualities of what we eat.

How much we eat, when we eat, and whether our body is actually ready to receive food are all important considerations.

Learning to recognize these signals can be a simple first step toward becoming more attentive to your digestion.

It’s not only about what you eat—it’s also about how you digest it.

🌿 Three quick tips for better digestion — Part 1

In Classical Ayurveda, digestion isn’t only about what we eat. We also consider when we eat, how often we eat, and what we consume with our meals.

These three simple practices are a place to begin:

• Avoid snacking between meals
• Avoid eating within 3 hours of bedtime
• Avoid iced, cold, or carbonated beverages with meals

Small changes in how we approach food can help us become more attentive to our own digestion.

It’s not only about what you eat—it’s also about how you digest it.

🍃Summer isn’t over yet—but the season is beginning to shift. 🌻

In Classical Ayurveda, we pay attention to the qualities of the season and how they can influence our daily routines, food choices, digestion, and overall health.

This doesn’t mean following a rigid seasonal diet or giving up the foods you enjoy. It means learning to recognize what your body and environment may be asking for as the season changes.

As we move toward autumn, small adjustments can help you stay attentive to your digestion and your own sense of health.

It’s not about following the same routine all year. It’s about responding appropriately to the season and to yourself.

🍃We often hear that improving digestion is simply a matter of eating the “right” foods.

But in Classical Ayurveda, digestion is more nuanced than that.

The same meal may affect two people very differently depending on their individual constitution, digestive capacity, daily routine, and many other factors.

Rather than focusing only on the food itself, Ayurveda seeks to understand why digestion is struggling in the first place.

Have you noticed certain foods affect you differently than they affect someone else?

🌿 Preserving Health After Environmental Exposure

Even after environmental conditions improve, Ayurveda encourages us to remain aware of how our bodies respond.

Simple daily practices such as monitoring the Air Quality Index (AQI), maintaining healthy digestion, drinking warm water, practicing abhyanga, using nasya when appropriate, following a consistent dinacaryā, and getting adequate rest can help support the preservation of health.

Ayurveda also reminds us that care should always be individualized. Depending on the person and their clinical presentation, recommendations may include dietary and lifestyle guidance, herbal support, or, when appropriate, Panchakarma therapies.

Awareness is one of the foundations of prevention. By observing both our environment and our own responses, we can make thoughtful choices that support long-term health.
