KayDen’s childhood experiences with hearing loss, scoliosis, and frequent hospital visits—and the compassion shown by healthcare professionals—motivated her to pursue a career where she can provide the same comfort, advocacy, and reassurance to future patients. She now serves as president of her university’s MLS club, the Mississippi student president for ASCLS, was awarded the 2026 Mississippi MLS Student of the Year, and uses social media to highlight the work of laboratory professionals while seeking this scholarship to continue her education and support her family with unwavering dedication. She will use this scholarship to focus her energy and time on her program and future patients.
