My black bean dip takes me way back. OK, really, way back! I was a junior at Pitt, living in my first apartment, getting into to ska and punk music, and a vegetarian. I was invited to a birthday cookout in the suburbs. So I played around with some black beans, lime, and spices to make a dip to bring. I started making it for family and friends. It was a hit and became a go-to for gatherings for years to come. This was the very first recipe I ever created. A long, long time ago! Not your traditional KIMCHI FRIED RICE🥢 In my version, the kimchi is fried with the rice, then blended into a more traditional fried rice with scrambled eggs, peas, carrots, and onion. Topped off with green onions and fresh grated ginger. It's gluten free, of course!

This weekend is the south 9th Street Italian Market Festival. 🇮🇹I have been attending this festival for ages and used to eat my way through it. But having celiac disease and needing to be on a strict gluten free diet, my food festival experiences are not the same. But we deserve to wallk around and enjoy street fare at food festivals too! In honor of celiac awareness month💚🎗, I am bringing this Italian food festival experience to my gluten free Philly friends.

I have curated an Italian Street Fare menu👩‍🍳🍝 for you to pick up and bring to the festival to enjoy amongst all of the gluten eating festival goers.
