Any Tattoo Artist Can do a good job for my tattoo, right? WRONG.
Here are The 5 Dangerous Mistakes people make when looking for an artist to do their tattoo--And I want to help you so that you don't make them:

#1 Calling shops around town trying to get prices...
When you call around demanding prices you won't find an quality artist speaking with you.
Why? Because Quality artists are busy working with their clients and are probably tattooing right now or working on their art.
With all the mediocre tattoos walking around town and people wanting cover-ups, Quality artists are in HIGH-DEMAND.
And in order to speak with an artist that has the experience and professionalism needed for a great tattoo experience, you'll need to schedule an in-person consultation with them.
They probably have an assistant or Consultation manager that answers the phones, and they can't give you accurate prices because they aren't the artist.
Soon I'll show you how to do it the right way, and it actually flows a lot smoother than what you're probably doing...
#2 They want it right now and have no patience ...
When you need your tattoo right now and you have no desire to schedule an appointment or let an artist prepare for your tattoo properly you get mediocre tattoos at best.
Well hey if you want an artist to treat you like dollar signs do that, but that's not what we at Savage Tattoo stand for.
We understand that the experience during the tattoo is what you'll remember when you think of your tattoo, it's more meaningful than just a tattoo, It's the start of a Client relationship.
You don't get an artist to put his "all" into a walk-in tattoo and you won't build a friendship or appreciation from the tattoo artist getting a walk-in tattoo.
Why?
Well think about it, you want an amazing tattoo but you don't respect the artists process of preparing for the tattoo.
You're selfishly only thinking about you and getting the tattoo now...
Quality tattoos take time and preparation and its a performance to the artist. A performance that can either build or ruin an artists reputation, and they want to do their best.
Put yourself in their shoes...
Imagine you have a big performance coming up or event like your wedding coming up..
you know your the star of the show and preparing for the event is going to make the difference between it being something your proud of for the rest of your life or you regret for the rest of your life...
And you spouse says "hey, there's no preparing this, No tuxedo, no make up, no getting ready, I don't care what your schedule looks like, we're doing this right now or I'm going to get married to someone else..."
that's what you're doing to a quality artist when you demand to get the tattoo now. Finding an artist you can really trust for the long-term is like finding someone you can trust in a long term relationship.
They want to work with you, but the demands and expectations are unreasonable.
Soon I'll show you the best way to get an appointment as soon as possible with a quality artist, stay tuned...
#3 Putting off or not setting up a Consultation with an artist...
When you set up a consultation you'll speak with someone who will listen to your tattoo idea and direct you to the proper artist that will do the best job on your tattoo.
In your consultation you will get information on pricing, the vibe of the artist, his portfolio, experience and his availability.
By not setting up a consultation, you'll probably talk to your friends, create a false idea in your head of what price the tattoo will cost and never really have a clear a true understanding about what it will take to get the tattoo the way you want it, with an artist that you can trust.
you'll either end up getting a crap tattoo by going into a shop that can get you in right now or overwhelm yourself by thinking to hard and talk yourself out of getting the tattoo and putting it off til later.
Soon I'll show you how to go about connecting with an artist you can trust the right way!
#4 price-haggling and price shopping...
Tattoo artists set their prices according to their skills, quality, and experience.
This is why it's important not to shop for the best price but the best quality.
I'ts like Plastic Surgeons...
The best ones charge the most because when it comes to your body and health, you don't want to go cheap, you are investing in yourself.
The price you pay for a tattoo doesn't just go into the artists pocket, they take 50% of that at best.
And there's many expenses when it comes to be an artist:
fees, taxes, licenses, and infection control education, art training and education, art supplies, inks, needles, disposable tubes, grips, plastic covers, soaps, printed papers, ointments, rubber golves, paper towels, stencil papers, tattoo station covers, alcohol, rzors, rubber bands, protective wrap, etc.
Not to mention, Bills and expenses of the tattoo shop, cleaning, management, insurance, employees and help with the upkeep of the shop and the customer experience all goes into that price.
Plus what about all the countless hours the artists takes designing your tattoo and the energy of coming up with how to make the design flow? All of that time goes into the price.
There are literally thousands of countless hours that nobody sees that an artist puts into his craft in advance before he's able to charge the price that he does.
So that price reflects everything above as well as the Lifetime of honing and mastering the precision and skills neccessary to deliver an Amazing tattoo experience.
And of course, the bigger the tattoo the more experience necessary, supplies needed, and cost goes up.
So you can see that the price you pay when adding in all the factors, isn't as much as you thought for the work that requires so much responsibility, experience, knowledge, and precision.
Soon I'll show you how to get started with an artist that does great work but also doesn't overcharge you for their work...
#5 Going to a Cheap Artist instead of a Specialized Artist...
A cheap artist will take your money, get you in today, and forget about you tomorrow.
They'll also do just about anything to get your business because cheap artists don't keep clients. So they'll price cut, tell you what you want to hear, and give you a tattoo because you're paying them.
A cheap artist uses cheap supplies, resulting in faded colors, lots of touch ups, and work that you might or might not be proud to show off...
A cheap artist is inexperienced so of course you'll get a cheap price, but at what cost?
A cheap artist can't afford to put much into the tattoo experience to ensure you have a great lasting memory when getting your tattoo.
Why? because from the start you treated them like a "tattoo guy" instead of like a friend and they are only tattooing you for the money.
And an inexperienced cheap artist is still learning how to use the tattoo equipment, they haven't even got to thinking about the big picture and the actual tattoo experience and your memory of it.
And anyone willing to put something on your skill permanently that lacks the skills neccessary clearly lacks responsibility.
inexperienced artists do shakey lines, choppy shading, poor design placement, and you risk Regret and Infection going to them because they lack experience, responsibility, and the proper training when it comes to disease and infection control.
so when your tattoo looks like chicken scratch and swells up and you've got quarts of puss coming out of your leg and theres a chance of having to amputate your leg because of a staff infection you never thought would happen..
you'll have nobody to blame but that cheap price that you chose from an inexperienced and irresponsible artist...
But a specialized artist has been properly trained about infection and disease control and how to prevent it.. they take pride in the cleanliness of the environment they tattoo in.
And a Specialized artist will get to know you through a consultation...
They will also dig deep into the idea you have in your head and the meaning behind your tattoo, that way they can price you according to what it will really take.
A specialized artist will do business with you because he is genuinely interested in your project and is passionate and excited about bringing it to life.
A specialized artist presents professionalism while caring about their clients and treating them like friends, building a relationship with them, following up with them, and always over delivering to them.
A specialized artist will tell you if they are the right artist for you or not, they are responsible for their clients tattoos and won't rush you into something they can't deliver one.
They are specialized because of the level of experience, responsibility, and precision they have.
They invest into their skills by doing art on their free time and days off to better serve their clients.
They do crisp, Straight lines, vibrant colors, and smooth creamy shading in all of their tattoos and when you get a tattoo by them they take extra care to make sure your tattoo heals properly.
Specialized artists invest into top-of-the-line Equipment so that your tattoos are done with precision and come out like the idea in your head.
