FAQ- Common questions relating to JU Henna Tattoo. What happens when you get henna? I will apply the design of your choosing with henna paste. Let the paste dry (generally after 15 minutes it is safe from getting smudged), and let it sit on your skin for as long as possible (at least a couple hours) without getting it wet. When finally removing the paste, DO NOT wash it off. Instead, pick it off with your fingernail or the edge of a credit card. At first, the henna tattoo will be light orange, but give it a day and it will turn a darker brown. How long does henna last? Everyone’s skin is unique in the amount of oils it produces (among other factors), so everyone’s skin absorbs henna a little differently. However, it is generally safe to say that henna lasts at LEAST four days on the skin (for most, it is around a week, and for some a few weeks or longer!). There are some things you can do to insure your henna is as dark and long-lasting as possible, see below under “Henna Tips and Tricks.” How long does it take to get henna? Each design takes a unique amount of time, but in general, the more complex the tattoo is, the longer it will take to apply. Smaller tattoos can take as little as a few minutes, medium designs can take about ten minutes, and full-hand or full-foot designs can take 20 minutes or longer. Does henna hurt? Never! Henna is 100% natural and pain-free. If you are concerned about allergies to henna, please see the list of ingredients in my henna paste below under “Henna Ingredients.” How much does it cost? See pricing details below: Street Fair / Festival Pricing: Henna tattoos start as low as $3 plain and simple, and more for larger/intricate tattoos. Individual Henna Application Pricing: I can give you beautiful henna tattoos at a park or coffee shop in Manayunk, or at a location of your choosing with travel fee (50 cents per mile, for both my drive to your location and back). Minimum of $25 worth of designs ($25 gives you a medium-sized tattoo). Party Pricing: Groups of two people or more, charged by the hour (one hour minimum). Weekend Parties (Friday, Saturday, Sunday): One hour: $100 $40 for each additional half-hour Weeknight Parties (Monday through Thursday): One hour: $80 $30 for each additional half-hour For parties, the first hour’s rate will be collected up front & the remaining rates will be collected at the end of henna services. If travel is over 15 miles from Manayunk PA, a travel fee will be charged for each additional mile (50 cents per mile, for both my drive to your location and back).
