Do you have fears?
Of course, we ALL do! I’d like to share a story about a fear I had which is pretty small to most people, but it was HUGE to me!
So I had a huge fear of taking impressions, it was my ‘Achilles heel’ of being an RDH. I always avoided, asked the EFDA or DA to do this because I knew they were great at it!
Then there was the DAY- it came, rearing its ugly head. A patient came in asking for in-office whitening treatment and was very eager to do it. I had extra time in my schedule, so I could definitely take impressions myself. I knew how hard our EFDA worked and it was out of line to even ask. So I didn’t. I asked her how to mix the material because I was so out of practice. It was embarrassing! As this awesome EFDA was whirling around the office, she was patient and kind with me giving me EVERY step I needed because she knew my weakness.
Well, I changed my attitude, charged in there and actually did it! I did it! No gagging, no extra material, tray fit like a GLOVE.
The only regret I have was not doing it sooner!
Silly fears are still valid, but facing the music with the little fears guide you to conquering bigger ones. ♥️
