Eating “low FODMAP” foods but still dealing with bloating?

In this episode #101 of The Gut Health Dialogues podcast, I break down one of the biggest misconceptions about low FODMAP: it’s not just WHAT you eat, it’s how much and how it’s structured.

Most people treat FODMAP like a blacklist, when in reality, your tolerance is dose-dependent.

P.S. If you want a done-for-you structure that actually works, download my Low FODMAP Vegetarian Meal Plan + Food Guide: https://alyssa-simpson.mykajabi.com/freebie-low-fodmap-vegetarian-food-guide-pdf

Once you understand this, the diet stops feeling restrictive, and starts working the way it’s supposed to.

This episode will completely change how you approach low FODMAP, and help you finally start expanding your diet again.

If you’ve cut out half your diet and still feel bloated, this is your wake-up call. 🚨

In this episode of The Gut Health Dialogues, I break down one of the biggest misconceptions about the low FODMAP diet: it’s not just about what foods you eat, it’s how you structure them.

Because most people trying to do low FODMAP as a vegetarian aren’t doing it wrong, they’re just missing the nuance.

P.S. If you’re stuck wondering what you can actually eat without triggering symptoms, download my Low FODMAP Vegetarian Meal Plan + Food Guide to help you build meals that actually work: https://alyssa-simpson.mykajabi.com/freebie-low-fodmap-vegetarian-food-guide-pdf

We talk about why “safe foods” can still cause symptoms, how portion sizes and food stacking quietly trigger bloating, and how to structure your meals so you’re not stuck in restriction forever.

This episode will completely change how you approach low FODMAP, and help you finally start expanding your diet again.

If you’re eating “perfectly” just to stay functional, that’s not freedom. It’s survival mode.

With hydrogen sulfide SIBO, diet can quiet symptoms, but it doesn’t change the gut environment that created the problem. That’s why so many people feel better until they don’t.

In Episode 87, Alyssa explains:
• Why symptom relief can be misleading
• Why sulfur sensitivity keeps coming back
• What actually creates lasting stability

If you’ve followed low FODMAP perfectly and still feel stuck, frustrated, or afraid to eat anything off-plan, here’s what’s happening…

For some people, the problem isn’t carbs or fermentation at all.
It’s a different gut pattern that doesn’t respond to standard IBS rules, which is why relief can feel partial, unpredictable, or short-lived.

In Episode #87 of the Gut Health Dialogues podcast, I share why this happens, why certain bodies react differently, and how understanding the right mechanism changes everything, from constant restriction to real clarity.

Hydrogen sulfide SIBO often doesn’t show up on standard breath tests, which leaves many people stuck in cycles of confusion, IBS labels, and symptom management without answers.

In Episode 87, I break down:
• What flatline tests really mean
• Why hydrogen sulfide is overlooked
• How newer testing is changing the conversation

If you’ve ever thought, “Why do I feel so much worse than everyone else with SIBO?” here’s why:

Hydrogen sulfide SIBO doesn’t just affect digestion. It can create whole-body inflammation, fatigue, brain fog, and pain, which is why so many people feel dismissed when tests come back “normal.”

Wanna know why this form of SIBO hits harder, why it’s often missed, and what actually helps? Click the link to watch the full episode to understand what your symptoms are really telling you: https://youtu.be/nZzC3TmWZXw?si=zpn0DXIPnmZx8uzE

If you’ve been treated for SIBO and nothing really changed, or symptoms only improved briefly, this could be why👇🏻

Hydrogen sulfide SIBO behaves differently than hydrogen or methane SIBO, which means standard treatments don’t always target what’s actually driving symptoms. That’s why so many people feel dismissed, confused, or like their body is “resistant” to treatment.

In Episode 87 of Gut Health Dialogues, I break down:
• What hydrogen sulfide SIBO is
• Why it’s often missed on testing
• Why diet and antibiotics alone may not be enough
