5 Simple Nervous System Regulation Tips
For the woman who’s been “holding it all together” for too long 💛
1. Breathe Longer on the Exhale
Your nervous system responds to your breath.
Try this: inhale for 4… exhale for 6–8.
Longer exhales signal safety to the body and help calm stress hormones.
2. Get Barefoot on the Earth
Grass. Sand. Dirt. Stone.
Grounding helps bring the body back into the present moment and can reduce feelings of overwhelm and anxiety.
3. Stop Multitasking for 10 Minutes
Your brain was not designed to process constant stimulation.
Choose ONE thing and do it slowly and intentionally.
Presence is medicine.
4. Shake Out Stored Stress
Trauma and tension often get trapped in the body.
Turn on music and gently shake your arms, legs, shoulders, and hips for 1–2 minutes.
Movement helps discharge stress energy.
5. Create One Moment of Safety Daily
A warm tea.
A hand on your heart.
Sunlight on your face.
A quiet walk.
The nervous system heals through repeated experiences of safety — not force.
