What The Limber UniLeg different?
1. Very lightweight
The design eliminates many of the separate components found in conventional prostheses, helping reduce overall weight and potentially fatigue. Limber reports that its early development work showed substantial reductions in weight and manufacturing time compared with conventional approaches.
2. Water and element resistant 💦
This is one of the big selling points. The UniLeg is designed to tolerate exposure to water and the elements, making activities such as swimming, showering, beach days and gardening much less complicated.
3. Dynamic and alignable
It isn’t simply a rigid 3D-printed leg. Limber says the UniLeg provides dynamic, multiaxial performance and can be aligned by the prosthetist.
4. Digital scanning and fabrication
The clinician can digitally scan the patient’s limb/device, and Limber uses that digital information to produce the customized prosthesis. That potentially makes the workflow faster and more repeatable than traditional fabrication.
5. Durability
Limber specifically designed the UniLeg around strength and resistance to everyday environmental exposure. The company describes it as highly durable and says it has undergone extensive testing.
