Art is more than just drawing. It's a way to express ideas, build confidence, strengthen fine motor skills, and celebrate each person's unique creativity.

Our members recently enjoyed an art activity where they let their imaginations shine. Every piece is different because every artist is different, and that's what makes each creation so special. 💚

At Arizona Developmental Services, we love providing opportunities that encourage self expression while helping our members develop new skills in a fun, supportive environment. Watching their confidence grow with every project is one of the best parts of what we do.

This week, our members took part in another everyday life experience by taking the ADS van through the car wash! 🚙🫧

Community outings like these help build confidence while teaching practical skills that many of us use every day. From learning how to care for a vehicle to following directions and working together as a team, every outing is another opportunity for growth and independence.

Sometimes the biggest lessons come from the simplest moments... and judging by the smiles, this one was a lot of fun! 😄💚

From creating shopping lists and finding items to making purchases, interacting with cashiers, and managing a budget, each outing provides valuable hands-on experience that builds confidence and encourages greater independence.

These community experiences are an important part of our program, helping our members strengthen decision-making, communication, money management, and social skills in a real-world setting.

Each morning at Arizona Developmental Services, our members work together to help keep our campus clean, welcoming, and ready for the day ahead.

Morning grounds cleanup is more than a daily routine. It's an opportunity to build teamwork, responsibility, and real-world work habits while making a positive impact on the environment around us. Every task completed helps develop valuable skills that can be carried into future employment and everyday life.

Learning goes far beyond the classroom! This week, our members enjoyed a wonderful outing to the City of Phoenix Library, where they explored books, discovered new interests, used computers, and spent time building literacy and technology skills in a welcoming community environment.

Whether they were browsing the shelves for their next great read, enjoying educational games on the computer, or simply experiencing all the library has to offer, every moment was another opportunity to learn, grow, and build independence.

Community outings like these help our members develop confidence, strengthen life skills, and become active participants in their community.

Our members had a great time preparing pulled pork loaded baked potatoes for lunch, and the smiles said it all! From washing and prepping ingredients to assembling their meals and enjoying them together, every step was an opportunity to learn.

Cooking Class is about so much more than making great food. It's where our members build confidence, practice following directions, strengthen teamwork, improve kitchen safety, and develop the independent living skills they'll use every day.

A huge thank you to Alan from Backpacks 4 Kids AZ for stopping by with cookies to celebrate the incredible work our members did packing snack bags for the community. 🍪

It was a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to everyone. Our members took great pride in being part of a project that helps others, and it was wonderful to see their hard work recognized.

Last week, our members enjoyed a community outing to Lam's Market, where they had the opportunity to explore new foods, practice shopping skills, and experience different cultures.

Outings like these are about so much more than grocery shopping. Members practiced budgeting, making purchasing decisions, communicating with cashiers, navigating a retail environment, and building confidence in everyday community settings.

These real world experiences are an important part of helping our members grow in independence while strengthening the life and workplace skills they'll use for years to come.
