💚 BIG HEARTS. BIG OPPORTUNITIES. BIG IMPACT! 💚

It's time for another weekly update from Arizona Developmental Services, and we have so much to share! 🎉

🎃 First, our members kept the Halloween spirit alive by making creepy crawly pudding cups! A little creativity, a little spooky fun, and plenty of smiles!

❤️ But what happened next is what truly makes our hearts full.

Our members rolled up their sleeves and helped pack snack packs for Backpacks for Kids, supporting another organization that makes a difference in our community.

Our members have SO much heart. They understand the importance of helping others. They want to contribute, give back, and be part of something meaningful. Sometimes, all they need is someone willing to give them the opportunity. 💚

That's exactly why we're so excited about ADS Works! 🎉

Our workforce development program is beginning training to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build the skills and confidence needed for meaningful employment.

Through hands on experiences, job coaching, and partnerships with local businesses, our members will develop workplace skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare for real employment opportunities.

.🎃👻 SLIME, PUMPKINS & SPOOKY FUN AT ADS! 💚

Fall fun is in full swing at Arizona Developmental Services, and our members have been getting into the Halloween spirit! 🍂✨

From making their very own Halloween slime and painting pumpkins to whipping up some delicious pumpkin spice horchata, it was a celebration filled with creativity, laughter, and new experiences! 🎨🎃🥤

One of our favorite moments? Watching members who were hesitant to touch the slime at first become curious, give it a try, and end up enjoying themselves! 💚

These activities are about so much more than seasonal fun. They encourage sensory exploration, creativity, independence, and the confidence to try something new.

It's the little victories, big smiles, and moments of discovery that make what we do at ADS so meaningful! 🥰

✨ 🏕️ Last week, we transformed ADS into Camp ADS for a day filled with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of smiles!

Our campers put their observation skills to the test during a scavenger hunt, searching high and low to solve clues and work together as a team. They wrapped up the day by making delicious s'mores, enjoying warm hot chocolate, and gathering around our indoor campsite for stories, laughter, and great conversation. ☕🍫🔥

Activities like these help build communication, problem solving, teamwork, and social skills while creating meaningful memories and lasting friendships.

We love seeing our members grow in confidence while having so much fun together. 💚

☀️🌈 After a rainy morning and a night full of storms, the sunshine finally made an appearance, and our members couldn't wait to get outside!

There is something special about fresh air, laughter, and simple moments together. Today's hula hoop fun brought lots of smiles, movement, and encouragement as everyone enjoyed the beautiful Arizona sunshine after the rain. 💙

🧠🌉 Science is all about asking questions, testing ideas, and discovering what works!

This week, our members took on a fun engineering challenge by building a paper bridge using only two cups, two pieces of paper, and ABC magnets. Their goal was to design a bridge strong enough to hold as many magnets as possible.

Through teamwork, creativity, and problem solving, they discovered that folding the paper made the bridge much stronger. It was amazing to watch them brainstorm, experiment, and celebrate their discoveries together. 💡❤️

Hands on learning like this helps build confidence, critical thinking, and real world problem solving skills that our members can carry with them every day.

Happy Monday! 🏐🏀💙

One of the highlights of our week is getting active at the Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped (ARCH)! Our members had an incredible time playing volleyball, shooting hoops, staying active, and enjoying time together in a fun, supportive environment.

Physical activity is about so much more than exercise. It helps build confidence, encourages teamwork, strengthens social connections, and promotes healthy lifestyles. Every game, every laugh, and every high five is another opportunity to grow.

We're grateful to organizations like ARCH for providing inclusive recreational programs that empower individuals with developmental disabilities to stay active while developing new skills and friendships. Their mission to promote independence, well being, and quality of life aligns beautifully with ours.

Thank you, ARCH, for welcoming our members and creating such a positive experience. We can't wait for our next visit! 💚

🚗✨ Life Skills Go Beyond the Classroom! ✨🧼

This week, our members took part in another everyday life experience by taking the ADS van through the car wash! 🚙🫧

Community outings like these help build confidence while teaching practical skills that many of us use every day. From learning how to care for a vehicle to following directions and working together as a team, every outing is another opportunity for growth and independence.

Sometimes the biggest lessons come from the simplest moments... and judging by the smiles, this one was a lot of fun! 😄💚
