Betrayal can change the way you see many things… including yourself.

Part of moving forward is making room to rediscover who you are apart from what happened to you.

Your needs, choices, and hopes still matter. Reconnecting with them is an important part of caring for yourself.

Some people love a quick start to their day.

Me? I like a slow one. ☺️

Not necessarily because I have nowhere to be, but because I’ve learned I do better when I give myself a little time before jumping into business, responsibilities, and the to-do list.

My mornings usually include some version of:

Prayer, breath, or meditation.
Brush my teeth. Rinse my face. Drink some water.
Walk and feed Enzo.
Gym.
Shower.
Coffee. Always coffee. ☕
A light breakfast or breakfast shake.

And somewhere in there, I like to make room for a little inspiration. Maybe 15–20 minutes of reading, or a podcast while I’m walking or at the gym.

It doesn’t happen perfectly every morning. And this certainly isn’t a morning routine I think everyone should follow.

It’s simply what works for me.

Because self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes it begins by noticing what helps you feel more like yourself before the rest of the day starts asking things of you.

What does your start to the day look like? 💗

I hear this a lot:

"I've been so focused on everyone else that I haven't stopped to ask what I need."

Difficult seasons have a way of pulling our attention outward.

Sometimes it's worth checking in with ourselves, too.

Your body deserves care, too.

After betrayal, caring for yourself can begin with something as simple as noticing what your body needs and responding with intention.

You don’t always have to do more.

Sometimes, the most supportive choice is creating space to slow down, reconnect, and simply be present.
