There are some people whose impact can never truly be measured, and Laurie Harrison was one of them.
For five years, Laurie served as House Manager at Nova Sober Living, but she was so much more than a manager. She poured every ounce of her heart, compassion, and love into every woman who walked through our doors. She believed in people when they couldn’t believe in themselves, and she never stopped reminding them that recovery and a beautiful life was possible.
I had the privilege of witnessing Laurie’s own journey. She worked incredibly hard to turn her life around, and she did. Once she found her footing, she reached back with both hands to help countless women do the same. Her impact on the recovery community was immeasurable. In addition to Nova, she dedicated her life to working in addiction recovery, making service to others her life’s purpose.
Laurie had a way of making every person she met feel seen, valued, and special. She was fun-loving, full of life, quick to laugh, and had a spirit that could brighten even the darkest days. She was a beautiful mother, a proud grandmother, a loyal friend, and an unwavering advocate for women in recovery.
My heart is broken knowing she is no longer here to continue the work she loved so deeply. I’m convinced she would have spent the rest of her life serving others, because that’s simply who she was.
Laurie, thank you for your tireless dedication, your kindness, and the hope you gave so freely. I have no doubt that you helped save the lives of many women at Nova, and your legacy will continue to live on through every person whose life you touched.
Our hearts are with your family, your friends, and the many communities you served so fiercely. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Rest easy, Laurie Harrison. Your work here is done, but your light will continue to shine through all of us. 🤍
