low-effort nourishment > wellness perfectionism ↓

As a single mom with a demanding schedule, I’ve had to learn the difference between habits that look healthy

… and habits that are actually sustainable in real life.

🥘 Is homemade bone broth amazing for healing? Yes.

🥘 Can store-bought shortcuts also be supportive? Also yes.

And no, everything in your kitchen does not need to look like a wellness influencer’s Sunday reset video to make a meaningful difference in your health.

Bone broth is one of my favorite ways to:
• support gut health
• add minerals + collagen
• use leftover food scraps
• have nourishing options on hand during busy weeks

Sometimes I make it from scratch.

Sometimes I buy the Costco version (not marketed as trendy BONE broth, so it’s way cheaper).

Both can exist.

Because realistic wellness will always beat wellness perfectionism.

Maybe one of the most sacred parts of becoming a mother is realizing how many women quietly contribute to your motherhood too.

The women who remind you who you are when you forget.

Who step in when you’re overwhelmed.

Who listen without judgment.

Who make your child feel safe and loved.

Who help carry the emotional weight of life.

Motherhood has made me realize just how strong women really are.

The moms figuring it out without much support.

The women raising kids far from family.

The ones juggling work, stress, healing, relationships, finances, exhaustion… and still showing up for their children every day.

And somehow, even while carrying so much, they still make space to support the women around them too.

I’ve felt that deeply lately. And internally combust regularly at how proud I am to be surrounded be such incredible mothers.

Happy (belated) Mother’s Day to the badass muthas before me and beside me who have shaped me as a mother and continue to inspire me with their love, tenacity, honesty, humor, resilience, and a deep commitment to creating a better future for our babies 🤍

If your energy completely falls apart by 3PM, your body may be running on stress hormones instead of actual support.

One of the biggest shifts I made for my nervous system, blood sugar, hydration, and energy was increasing minerals and becoming more intentional about how I fueled stress.

Adrenal cocktails are not magic.

They won’t replace sleep, boundaries, nourishment, or nervous system work.

But they CAN be an incredibly simple tool to help support:
• hydration
• mineral balance
• blood sugar stability
• stress resilience
• “tired but wired” energy

Sometimes the body asking for another coffee is actually the body asking for support.

Better-for-you French toast 🍞

If you’ve got a picky eater who flat-out refuses eggs, I see you. And I feel your pain.

So I stopped trying to force it and started making this instead.

Eggs are incredibly important for kids’ development, especially because they provide nutrients that are harder to get elsewhere:

🥚 Choline for brain and nervous system development
🥚 Vitamin A for growth, vision, and immune health
🥚 Easy-to-digest protein and healthy fats

Scrambled eggs weren’t worth the battle in our house.
This works and I’m satisfied with the easy win. 🏆

And even though French toast is more of sweet, comfort food, I make a few simple swaps to up the nutritional value:

🍞 Sourdough instead of white bread
🍁 Real maple syrup, not high fructose corn syrup
🌿 Pure vanilla extract

Is it “perfect”? No.

Is it nourishing and something my kid actually eats? Yes.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to health and nutrition, but this is a huge win for those of us in the health and wellness space who have been praying for science-backed nutrition guidance that doesn’t just put money in the pockets of big food and their lobbyists. 🙌🏼

Under President Trump’s leadership, common sense, scientific integrity, and accountability have been restored to federal food and health policy.

For decades, the Dietary Guidelines favored corporate interests over common-sense, science-driven advice to improve the health of Americans.

That ends today.

The new Dietary Guidelines call for prioritizing high-quality protein, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—and avoiding highly processed foods and refined carbohydrates.
