Our July 2026, Student Spotlight is Lindsey Jung.
Lindsey found our program through family friends, and gained interest through experience with getting kidney ultrasounds as a child and from being a twin! She brought genuine enthusiasm with her from day one. In class, she’s known for asking thoughtful, insightful questions that spark deeper discussion. She also has helped to lead study sessions, create study guides for her classmates, and often stays after school to keep learning.

Her hard work shows — Lindsey has consistently been a high achiever and enjoys making the connections between both the classroom and in the lab.

Congratulations, Lindsey. We’re proud to have you in our program!

Potassium is essential for every heartbeat. It helps regulate your heart’s rhythm, supports healthy blood pressure by balancing sodium, and keeps your heart muscle functioning properly. Eating potassium-rich foods as part of a balanced diet is a simple way to support lifelong cardiovascular health. ❤️

Your genes may influence your risk for heart disease, but your daily habits play a powerful role in protecting your heart. Every day, choices like getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, limiting excess sodium, eating a balanced diet, and being physically active can help support healthy blood pressure, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and strengthen your cardiovascular system. Small, consistent lifestyle changes can have a lasting impact—because while you can’t change your genetics, you can take meaningful steps to improve your heart health every single day

Florida Leads the Way—Could Arizona Be Next? ❤️

Florida has become the first state to require electrocardiogram (EKG) screenings for high school student-athletes before they participate in school sports. The new requirement, known as the Second Chance Act, is designed to identify hidden heart conditions that may increase the risk of sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes. The law takes effect for the 2026–2027 school year and was inspired by the tragic loss of a Florida high school athlete whose undiagnosed heart condition went unnoticed.
