“What does labor actually feel like?” 🤰✨
The truth is… it can feel different for everyone. Some describe early labor like strong period cramps, lower back pain, pressure, tightening, or waves that come and go. As labor progresses, contractions usually become more intense, closer together, and harder to talk through.
One of the biggest things we want patients to know: you do NOT have to go into labor feeling scared or uninformed. 💛 Knowing what to expect can help you feel more prepared and empowered going into birth.
Things that may happen during labor:
• Tightening or cramping that comes in waves
• Back pain or pelvic pressure
• Contractions becoming more regular over time
• “Bloody show” or loss of mucus plug
• Water breaking (though not always first!)
And remember — there are pain management options available. Every labor experience is different, and your birth team is there to support YOU every step of the way. ✨

Round ligament pain can catch so many moms-to-be off guard… one second you’re getting up from the couch, rolling over in bed, sneezing, laughing, or walking too fast… and the next ⚡️ sharp pain in your lower belly.
The good news? In many pregnancies, round ligament pain is completely normal and happens as the ligaments supporting your growing uterus stretch and adjust. 🤍
It’s often described as:
• Sharp, pulling, or stabbing pain
• Usually felt on one or both sides of the lower abdomen/groin
• Triggered by sudden movement
• More common in the 2nd trimester
While round ligament pain is common, severe pain, bleeding, fever, contractions, or pain that doesn’t improve should always be checked by your provider.
