Meet Nonosina. A woman who had inspired me as a Polynesian artist, pioneer, dancer, performer, musician, a creative, and as a mentor. How we first met was through a pamphlet at a movie theater when I was 16 years old and working as a professional Polynesian dancer with . I just happened to pickup this pamphlet and seen this article about the movie starring . In this article was a photo of the dancers from the 🎬 with a link . This is how we were first introduced.
To have had the honor to meet Nonosina in person after all those years, I am forever that we were able to share this moment together. You have reached so many lives in such a spiritual way, that is so true, so real. That you told me, “I feel like I know you.” And you do! Through your teaching and dancing style, I have always been a student of your work and hope to accomplish my own work of art, with the Polynesian dance community. I will always cherish your words you shared with me and the time we shared together. (There’s more to this story however I will save that for a later time)
May we continue to share your memories and messages with honor, integrity and most importantly love. You are a legend, and live in our stories for future generations of Polynesian artists, children, communities to come.
