Happy Friday from Roots Counseling!

The weekend is here but before you fill it with errands, plans, cleaning, and everything else on your list, make a little room for YOU.

What is ONE thing you can do for your mental health this weekend?

Maybe it’s:
• Getting outside for a little while
• Putting your phone down and being present
• Taking a nap without feeling guilty
• Spending time with someone who makes you laugh
• Saying “no” to something you don’t have the capacity for
• Going to church and refilling your spirit
• Cleaning one space that’s been stressing you out
• Doing absolutely nothing for an hour — yes, that counts too!

Mental health care doesn’t always look like a therapy session. Sometimes it looks like rest, boundaries, connection, laughter, sunshine, prayer, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

Our new Columbia office will officially open on October 1, 2026!

New clients do not have to wait until opening day to get started. We are accepting new intakes now through:

• Telehealth appointments
• In-person appointments at our Picayune office

New Columbia location:
