Roots Counseling and Coaching is excited to offer our Summer Emotional Regulation + Friendship Skills Group for children ages 6–9.
This small-group experience is designed to help children:
• manage big emotions
• build confidence
• improve communication skills
• learn healthy coping tools
• develop friendships in a safe environment
Details:
• Mondays: June 1, 8, 15, & 22
• 11 AM – 2 PM
• Lunch provided
• Max 8 children per group
Early Bird Special:
Register by May 20 for only $160 for all 4 weeks.
Regular price: $200

To all of our graduates from Roots Counseling and Coaching and the amazing local schools in our community…

Happy Graduation!

What a huge accomplishment. We know this year wasn’t just made of tests, grades, and ceremonies. For many of you, it included overcoming anxiety, heartbreak, stress, self-doubt, family struggles, burnout, and moments where you questioned if you could even make it to this point.

But you did.

Some of you crossed the finish line running.
Some of you crawled across it exhausted.
Both still count.

We are incredibly proud of every student who kept going even when life felt heavy.

To the seniors stepping into adulthood, the kindergarteners moving up, the college graduates, the trade students, and every child and teen in between — your story matters, your future matters, and your life has purpose.

Remember:
Grades do not define your worth.
Your past does not define your future.
And needing support does not make you weak.

Keep dreaming big.
Keep growing.
Keep healing.
Keep becoming who God created you to be.

Summer is coming and we’re thinking BIG over here at Roots Counseling and Coaching.

We are exploring some fun, therapeutic summer groups for children and teens that focus on emotional growth, coping skills, confidence, friendships, anxiety support, social skills, and more — all in a way that feels engaging and supportive instead of “stuffy therapy.”

Some ideas we’re considering:
• Confidence-building groups
• Social skills groups
• Anxiety & coping skills camps
• Tween/teen support groups
• Creative/art-based coping groups
• Emotional regulation groups for younger children
• Faith-based encouragement groups for girls/teens

Before we finalize plans, we would LOVE feedback from parents.

What kinds of groups would you actually want for your child or teen this summer?

Happy Administrative Day to the REAL MVPs of Roots Counseling…

Let’s start with Peyton… aka the human Swiss Army knife. I’m pretty sure she could paint a whole wall, answer three phone calls, schedule 12 clients, warm a bottle, and rock a baby to sleep—all before your coffee gets cold. If multitasking was an Olympic sport, we’d have to build her a trophy shelf.

And then there’s Layla… the backbone, the glue, the calm in the storm (even though we KNOW we test that calm daily). We see that eye twitch, girl. We know. And yes… sometimes Nakia has to come in, gently pet her like a stressed-out emotional support coworker and remind her she’s amazing so she doesn’t walk out mid-chaos. But let’s be honest—we would not be standing today without her holding everything together behind the scenes.

These two don’t just keep the office running… they keep US running.

Roots Counseling is what it is because of them, and we are beyond grateful (and slightly dependent… okay, very dependent).
