Our Independent Living residents had a lovely time embracing the fall season with a delightful autumn craft hosted by their dear friend Sharon!

Using fall inspired napkins, they cultivated their own unique collages of pumpkins, leaves, and more, decoupaging them onto a wooden cutout of a pumpkin. While deeply immersed in the craft, they enjoyed exchanging their creative ideas with one another, alongside sharing plenty of autumn tales!

Being in the presence of each other while simultaneously tapping into their inner artist made something as simple as this craft a truly joyous occasion for our residents.

We enjoyed our last picnic of the season at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park! ☀️ After a delicious lunch, we explored the Nature Center, learned about local plants and animals, and spotted buffalo on the way home. What a beautiful day to make memories together!

Our Independent Living residents spent an unforgettable afternoon in Amish Country!

We began by driving through The Farm at Walnut Creek, admiring the variety of beautiful animals approaching our bus througout the experience. Following the drive, we took a nice stroll around the farm and even got to take a look inside the house, where residents adored examining the handmade furniture while eating fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies!

We then concluded the afternoon by meeting up with our two sister campuses at Der Dutchman restaurant and bakery, indulging in traditional Amish cuisine and taking some sweet treats back home with us. Momentous days such as these truly highlights the beauty of connecting and creating memories with others.

This past week our Independent Living residents had the joy of experiencing yet another Cultural & Heritage meal: Chinese food edition! Violet Springs' wonderful culinary team cooked a delectable feast comprised of handmade crab rangoons, egg rolls, and teriyaki chicken stir fry for residents to enjoy. Welcome to the neighborhood Denis and Cindy!
All the way from Minnesota, Cindy and Denis are our new Violet Springs Independent Living residents, and what better way to celebrate their arrival than with a Welcome Party. We began the festivities indulging in some of their favorite foods, including fresh blueberries, veggies, and hand-dipped ice cream! Residents then spent the afternoon listening in on the couple's life story, sharing some of their own, and playing a few rounds of Minnesota-themed trivia. We are beyond thrilled to have them as members of our community and eagerly anticipate many great memories we have yet to make!

Taking a Walk on the Wild Side! For our Independent Living resident Barb, her deep-rooted love for wolves, hiking, and the beauty of nature has been a lifelong passion. Thanks to a special "Live a Dream" trip to Dresden, Ohio, she had the unforgettable opportunity to spend an afternoon walking with wolves at the Ohio Canid Center! Barb met Ozzy, a fun-loving wolf who enjoyed belly rubs, and Eowyn, a gentle and sweet soul. Barb was brimming with joy being surrounded by nature and learning about these amazing animals. Barb's experience was truly a dream come true and a memory she will cherish forever!

🎨 Artistry in Action: Our Legacy Residents Shine! 🌟
Our creative legacy residents have been hard at work turning ordinary materials into stunning masterpieces! Using a beautiful combination of frames, black fabric paint for the "leading" lines, and vibrant colored inks mixed with clear glue, they hand-crafted their very own custom faux stained-glass art. The results are absolutely breathtaking, capturing the light and filling our space with brilliant color and joy. We are so proud of their focus, talent, and artistic spirit! 🖼️✨
