Folks, this is important! Help us protect our children by educating ourselves about cyber bullying!! It no longer ends when the kids leave the school. It’s up to us!!!

Bullying Doesn’t Stop at School.

For many children and teens, bullying follows them home through text messages, social media, group chats, online games, and other digital spaces. Because cyberbullying can happen at any hour and reach a large audience quickly, it can leave a young person feeling as though there is no safe place to escape it.

Cyberbullying may include:

• Sending cruel, threatening, or humiliating messages
• Spreading rumors or sharing private information online
• Posting embarrassing photos or videos without permission
• Deliberately excluding someone from online groups
• Creating fake accounts or impersonating another person
• Encouraging others to harass, shame, or target someone

Encourage children and teens not to respond or retaliate. Instead, they should save screenshots, block and report the account, adjust their privacy settings, and tell a trusted adult. Adults should listen calmly, take the situation seriously, document what happened, and involve the school or appropriate authorities when needed.

What happens online can cause very real harm. Let’s teach our children that kindness, respect, and accountability matter everywhere, including behind a screen.

THIS is worth reading — because this is what community is supposed to look like. ❤️
Compassion Pediatrics recently had the opportunity to support the Pike County Central football team through our Twisted Truck. The truck is staffed and supplied by us, and 100% of every sale is donated back to local teams and organizations.
While we were at Pike County Central, coaches from Knott County Central asked if we could bring the Twisted Truck to one of their games on August 28th. We were very happy to have this opportunity.
Our plan was simple: Compassion Pediatric Behavioural Health Services of Wayland and Compassion Pediatrics of Wayland would bring the truck, serve the community, and every dollar from our sales would go directly to the Knott County Central football team.
But then we got a phone call from the Knott County coaches.
They asked us to do something different.
Instead of giving the money to their football program, they asked us to give it to a local Knott County family whose child is currently going through a serious medical situation.
Think about that for a moment….
These coaches and players were given an opportunity to raise money for their own team — and their first thought was:
“Someone in our community needs it more than we do.”
That moved us tremendously.
So we are going to honor their request. 100% of the Twisted Truck sales from the August 28th game will go to this local family.
But Compassion Pediatrics of Wayland has decided to do one more thing.
We are going to match those sales with a separate donation to the Knott County Central football team.
Because generosity like this deserves to be recognized.
Winning football games is great. But teaching young people compassion, generosity, humility, and how to take care of their neighbors is something much bigger.
It is not every day that you come across a group of young people and coaches who are willing to put someone else's needs ahead of their own.
Knott County, you should be proud.
These kids are clearly being taught the right things.
And on August 28th, we hope you'll come see us at the Twisted Truck, buy some ice cream, support a local family, and help us celebrate a football program that reminded all of us what being part of a community is really about. ❤️🏈🍦
This is why we love serving the children of the mountains.

We would like to clarify the appropriate use of our after hours phone line so that we can continue providing the safest and highest quality care for our patients.

📱 How to reach the after-hours provider:

After regular office hours, call our office and follow the prompts to obtain the current after-hours number.
Please note that this number may change occasionally, so we recommend calling the office for the most up-to-date number rather than saving an old number.

The after-hours line is available after regular office hours only and will not be answered while the office is open.

The provider on call can offer recommendations and guidance only.

Please remember:
• This line is not for medication refills.
• It is not for scheduling or changing appointments.
• It is not for non-urgent questions that can wait until regular office hours.
• It is not a substitute for an in-person medical evaluation.
• If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

There are limitations to what our providers can safely assess through a message or phone conversation. In many situations, we cannot provide the same level of care remotely that can be provided through an in-person evaluation and examination.

If the provider recommends that your child be evaluated in person, please follow that recommendation.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in using the after-hours line appropriately. These guidelines help our providers remain available for patients who need after-hours guidance while helping ensure every child receives the appropriate level of care.

💙 Thank you for trusting us with the care of your children! 💙🩷

💙 So Proud of Our Compassion Team! 💙

We want to take a moment to recognize our incredible Compassion Team for the calmness, compassion, and teamwork they displayed during the terrible storm last night.

Their quick thinking and ability to work together helped keep our patients, parents, and one another safe during a frightening situation. We could not be more proud of the way our team came together when it mattered most. Their dedication truly represents what Compassion Pediatrics is all about!

As we begin our day, we ask that you please pardon our mess. Some areas of our office experienced flooding during the storm, and our team is working hard to clean up and get everything back in order.

Despite the challenges, we are open and continuing to provide each patient with the same compassionate, quality care you are accustomed to receiving from us.

Thank you to our amazing team, our families, and everyone who helped keep each other safe. We are incredibly grateful! 💙
