The holiday season can be tough, especially for those battling addiction. The Angel Initiative is a program started by the Kentucky State Police in 2016 with one goal: to save lives.

The Angel Initiative is a proactive approach offering an escape to those battling addiction. Under this initiative, anyone battling addiction can come to any KSP post and get help finding a treatment center. No questions asked.

Our case manager has compiled a list of food pantries for those in the pikeville ky, area. We understand times are already difficult this time of year and the chances of food insecurity will be increasing with the loss of SNAP Benefits. If you know of any other community resources or if any place listed has new or updated information please feel free to share in the comments.

It’s also okay if part of your journey includes therapy or medication, whatever helps you become the healthiest, happiest version of yourself.

Remember: it’s okay to not be okay, as long as you keep showing up for yourself. 💪

As we move into the holidays and colder months, please take extra care of your mental well-being.

✨ Create realistic goals.

August is Overdose Awareness Month 💜
For the past 5 years, I’ve taken time during this month to honor the lives lost to overdose. These weren’t just statistics these were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends. People. People like me. People like you.

We remember them not just in grief, but in purpose.

We fight for the living because their stories matter.
We speak up because too many have lost their voice.
We advocate because harm reduction saves lives.
And we won’t stop until more are saved, not buried.

Let this purple ribbon remind you:
HOPE. FAITH. STRENGTH. LOVE.
That’s what we carry with us. That’s what we fight with.

To those still here you matter.
To those we’ve lost you’re not forgotten.
And to those who love someone struggling don’t give up.
