Help Lay May Elizabeth Crouse to Rest — Founder of Crown Electric Tattoo
May Elizabeth Crouse, Chicago-born pioneer and first female tattoo shop owner in Las Vegas, opened Crown Electric Tattoo in 2003. Her children Justin, Nathan, and Leyla are raising funds for her funeral and final arrangements.
In Loving Memory of May Elizabeth Crouse
September 17, 1953 – Chicago, Illinois
May Elizabeth Crouse opened Crown Electric Tattoo in Las Vegas in 2003 and became known as the first female shop owner in the city. For more than two decades she built a shop that was more than a business — it was a home for artists, clients, and anyone who walked through the door looking for ink, a piercing, or a place that treated them like family.
She is survived by her three children: Justin Nolan, Nathan Nolan, and Leyla Nolan.
This campaign will help her children cover funeral costs, service arrangements, and the gathering that lets the Las Vegas tattoo community say goodbye the way May would have wanted — straightforward, full of heart, and surrounded by the people she spent her life serving.
Any amount helps. Share this page with anyone who sat in her shop, got their first tattoo or piercing there, or simply knew May as the woman who made space for others in a male-dominated industry long before it was common.
Thank you for honoring her the same way she honored this city: by showing up.
