A man who grows up without much guidance learns how to survive…
But he never really learns how to live.
So he becomes the man everyone depends on.
The man who never asks for help.
The man who figures it out on his own.
The man who apologizes for taking up space.
The man who carries burdens nobody even knows he’s carrying.
He learns how to be useful.
How to be strong.
How to be responsible.
But nobody teaches him how to rest.
Nobody teaches him that love isn’t something you earn by suffering.
Nobody teaches him that his needs matter too.
So even when life starts going well, he feels uncomfortable.
Because chaos feels familiar.
Struggle feels normal.
Peace feels suspicious.
He finds himself waiting for the next problem.
The next disappointment.
The next shoe to drop.
Not because he wants pain.
Because pain is what he understands.
Many men spend their entire lives becoming who everyone else needs them to be…
While never stopping long enough to discover who they are.
And eventually they wake up exhausted.
Not from carrying their own life.
But from carrying everyone else’s.
If any of these signs hit home, don’t beat yourself up.
You adapted to an environment that required it.
But the skills that helped you survive your childhood may be the very things preventing you from experiencing freedom as a man.
Healing begins when you finally learn that you don’t have to carry the weight of the world alone.
