There’s a lot of pressure on moms to always be “on.”

Always available.
Always patient.
Always present.

But needing time outside of your kids doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

It means you’re human.

Space to breathe, think, and exist as yourself again isn’t selfish, it’s part of what helps you show up as a better version of you.

And that benefits both you and your kids.

If you’ve been feeling guilty for needing a break or time away, you’re not alone in that. It’s something so many moms quietly struggle with.

Talking it through with someone who understands can help you release some of that guilt and find balance that actually feels sustainable.

It’s Friday and I just need every mom to hear this..

You don’t have to “earn” rest this weekend. 😅🤍

You’re allowed to pause, breathe, and take guilt-free time to yourself without overthinking it.

Mom guilt can take the day off too.🤷🏼‍♀️

Save this for when you need the reminder ✨

Self-care used to feel simple.

A shopping trip.Coffee with the girls.A date night out without thinking twice.

And then motherhood changes everything and suddenly, those things don’t feel as easy or even possible anymore.

So a lot of moms are left wondering “What does self-care even look like now?”

The truth is, it often becomes something quieter and more practical.
Meeting your basic needs.Moments of rest when you can find them.

It might not look like it used to, but it still matters just as much.

And if you’re in that space of feeling like you’ve lost your version of self-care, talking it through can help you reconnect with what actually supports you in this season.

We asked each therapist what self-care looks like for them, and the answers were a good reminder that it doesn’t have to be extravagant to matter.

For Meagan, our founder, it’s a diet caffeine-free Coke and the comfort of a good book.

For Miranda, self-care became less about luxury and more about asking, “What do I need right now?” Sometimes that’s a homemade cold brew, a few quiet moments from her swing, or ending the week with a hot bath and a Netflix show.

Cari’s go-to self-care looks like Barre3 classes, baking classes, and walking her dogs…simple things that help her recharge and reconnect with herself.

And for Amanda, self-care is getting outside. As a busy mom of three, taking a short walk in nature gives her the mental and physical reset she needs to keep showing up for herself and her family.

A good reminder that self-care doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. Sometimes it’s the small, realistic moments that make the biggest difference.

What’s one small way you have taken care of yourself lately?

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend 🤍

As we reenter into the week, remember that you do not have to do everything perfectly to be a good mom. Slow down when you need to, ask for help when you need it, and give yourself the same grace you give everyone else.

Save this for days where motherhood feels heavy. 🫶

May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to highlight the importance of maternal mental health. 💛
Motherhood can bring so much love, but it can also bring anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion, and moments of feeling unlike yourself—and many moms quietly wonder if they’re the only ones struggling this way.

This new blog covers signs of postpartum depression, anxiety, and other common perinatal mental health concerns, along with guidance on when to seek support.

Self-care as a mom doesn’t disappear…it just changes and that’s ok.

The time, the energy, the freedom to step away for hours… it all shifts when you become a mom. But that doesn’t mean self care disappears.

It means self-care looks different now. Smaller. More realistic. More woven into the everyday moments you do have.

It’s not about doing it all, it’s about not forgetting yourself in the process.

05/22/2026

The way you speak to yourself matters because it shapes the tone of your day, your confidence, and the way you care for yourself.

“I’m a horrible mom.”
vs.
“Today has been a hard parenting day.”

One creates shame. The other acknowledges the struggle while leaving room for grace.

We’re often much kinder to our friends than we are to ourselves — but you deserve that same compassion, too.

Self-care for new moms isn’t about spa days or doing more.

It’s about supporting your mind and body through one of the biggest transitions you’ll go through.

When your needs are constantly pushed aside, it can start to show up as anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Those aren’t things you’re supposed to just push through.

They’re signals that your system might need more support.

You deserve to feel supported too, not just the people you’re caring for.

If this resonates, having a space to talk and process what you’re carrying can make a real difference. We’re here whenever you feel ready.

Check back next week as we wrap up our self-care series with part 4! 💜
