Last week, Highmark Wholecare and Allegheny Health Network's Departments of Pediatrics and OB-GYN held a free farmers market and diaper giveaway at Allegheny Commons Park West in the North Side of Pittsburgh. At the Farm-to-Family event, 8,500 pounds of fresh produce and 100 cases of diapers were given out to more than 500 families. Thanks to all who came out. We're glad to support our communities with events like these!

July flew by! Our team members brought the energy, participating in 122 community events across the state. We loved connecting with so many of you, embracing the summer spirit, and continuing our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our communities. Happy National Farmers Market Week! We're working to improve community health, which is why we're proud to host free farmers markets across the state in collaboration with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Westmoreland Food Bank. Through our Farm-to-Family program, which combats food insecurity, we have given out 124,000 pounds of fresh produce at 18 events so far this year. We believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food, and we're committed to continuing this vital work for a healthier Pennsylvania!

We hosted a Farm-to-Family free farmers market a few weeks ago at our Connection Center in Bellevue. In collaboration with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, we gave out 8,000 pounds of fresh produce to 400 families. It was great to see everyone on a sunny Friday and help feed our communities. Our free farmers markets will continue through November and we'll be back in Bellevue on Aug. 14!
