Applications for the Global Health Equity Fellowship are now open!

The ASRA Pain Medicine Global Health Equity Fellowship Rotation offers an immersive two-week experience designed to help fellows expand their perspective, strengthen care in limited-resource settings, and grow as global health leaders.

The selected fellow will receive up to $5,000 in funding, travel support, opportunities to teach and collaborate, and meaningful engagement with global leaders and local medical teams.

The September Member Spotlight recognizes Mikhail Goman, MD, an attending anesthesiologist at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City and a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Goman earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Brooklyn College and his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. After completing an internal medicine internship at Maimonides Medical Center, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine at HSS.

In addition to his clinical work at HSS, Dr. Goman is deeply involved in education, simulation, and mentorship. He directs the Regional Anesthesia, Pharmacology, and Physiology for Orthopedic Surgery course, leads simulation-based training for regional anesthesia fellows and medical students, and serves as vice chair of the HSS Resuscitation Committee. His scholarly contributions include research and publications in regional anesthesia and medical education, and he serves as a peer reviewer for Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine. An ASRA Pain Medicine member since 2019, Dr. Goman’s commitment to education and mentorship is helping prepare the next generation of anesthesiologists.
