Many of us know that Parkinson's Disease can cause our movements and body processes to become less automatic.

But when you do it with intent, whether it's walking, standing up, speaking, or even swallowing - the outcome is almost always better.

Honestly, doing things with intent is good whether or not you have Parkinson's Disease.

Most cases of Parkinson’s disease aren’t linked to a known genetic cause—and growing research points toward environmental risk factors that we need to be talking about more.

Do you have any luck finding mobile therapy in your town?

I get calls for in-home PT all the time throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Unfortunately, I have to keep my travel radius tight so I can stay sane, so unfortunately I have to say no a lot.

I do my best to refer them elsewhere, though the truth is there just aren't enough mobile PTs in Pittsburgh. The popular clinics often have a wait list.

Just curious what you experience in other towns?

The Rollz Motion Electric is a 3-in-1 device that can be used as a rollator, electric wheelchair, and transport chair with motorized assistance.

This is a great option for people who still want to walk, stay active, and keep their legs moving, but also want powered mobility available when walking isn’t doable due to pain, fatigue, balance, or other fluctuations.

It is definitely an investment, and the main downside is the weight at over 50 lbs. That can make vehicle loading tricky, though it is doable with the right techniques and equipment. That said, the extra weight also gives it very solid stability when using it as a rollator.

These new compact travel rollators are pretty dang cool. 👌

So far, I've only tested the Rolloy, and it's been a solid rollator with good brakes, a seat, and storage. I could definitely see these being a great option if you're looking to save space or travel—whether it's your primary rollator or just another tool in your rollator arsenal.

Even though I review a lot of fancy walkers, don't sleep on the classic 2-wheel walker.

For the right person, it's often the most stable option. It can help prevent knee buckling, unload a painful leg, and it's lightweight, affordable, and easy to get in and out of the car.

Simple still works.

Loose brake cables can snag on furniture, door handles, and other obstacles—but it's an easy problem to fix.

Here are a few options:
✅ Use the hooks or cable clips that came with your rollator
✅ Make your own Velcro loops
✅ Use a zip tie
✅ Consider a rollator with hidden brake cables
