🎅 We took a peek at Santa's list for the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh NICU and decided to lend a hand to the big guy himself! 🎁

🎉 Our largest drop yet includes:
- 680 board books 📚
- Crib mobiles 🚼
- Sound machines 🎵
- Baby Einstein developmental tools 🧠
- Smart rattles 🪀
- Developmental playboards, sensory cards, self-discovery mirrors, and more! 🌟

Eleven years ago, Audrey received life-saving care in this amazing unit, and our gratitude only grows as she does. 💖

🌟 A huge shoutout to our incredible supporters, especially Bellwood Preschool & Kindergarten for their book drive. Special thanks to the NICU child life group (especially Sara Gamble) and the phenomenal staff and nurses of the NICU (with a special nod to Jamie, who greeted us today and provided Audrey with amazing care during her time there).

Santa made a very special stop to each child in the at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh NICU yesterday.

In the form of a simple cardboard box dropped on our door stoop this weekened - we received a wonderful reminder of the joy and lasting impact that the Addison’s Song book cart at Children's has upon families with infants in the NICU.

Our posts have slowed; but our book drops haven't!

Its been 8 months and 550 books since our last post! Its not you, it's us!

We are so excited that the Witch has landed this week (dressed like an Amazon.com delivery driver) at the Children's Hospital NICU and will be sharing one of our all time favorites Room on the Broom. Since the start of Covid, we've been unable to deliver directly - but we've been marking sure the book cart has remained stocked!

Some of our favorite titles from the 550 so far in 2021: Love You Forever, You!, Goodnight Moon, Guess how much I love you, Not so small at All, Brown Bear, and Goodnight Train

We are planning for more holiday book drops and we've been keeping our ear to the ground as part of our involvement in the Children's Hospital NICU Advisory Group to start to develop wishlists for the unit during the upcoming holiday season!

We find joy each day when Audrey hops off the bus, unpacks her backpack, and tells us about her day.

When she showed us her work today, our hearts grew. To celebrate “100 days,” her in-class assignment was “if you had $100 dollars, what would you do?” Her response: “I would donate it to Children's Hospital”

It’s so amazing, as her parents, that she shares the same appreciation for the facilty and staff that saved her life, and holds empathy for the families and Children that are receiving care within.

How blessed we are.

7 years...

From a 1 pound 7 ounce survivor with long shot odds to survive; to a girl who loves riding bikes, playing dress up, hanging out with her grandmas, and showing off all she’s learned in 1st grade.

Undoubtedly - there will forever be a missing part in our family with Addison - and lingering thoughts of how our lives would have looked with her in it. But we know she’s always with us; and we consider ourselves truly blessed to have witnessed Audrey grow and thrive into the odds defying 7 year old miracle that she is today.
