I hope everyone is staying safe and abiding by the CDC recommendations. I find this is not as simple as it sounds as we are wired for human interaction including touch. A 20 second hug increases oxytocin (happiness) and decreases the stress hormone, norepinephrine.

Social distancing may not apply within a low risk household. Hug those around you everyday (if safe). For those of you living alone consider going for walks with neighbors (6 feet apart) and connecting through zoom or facetime with loved ones.

Keys to wellness during these times
1. Gratitude for what we have
2. Cook (and eat) healthy food
3. Move your body several times per day
4. Get outside! Parks are open
5 . Use this opportunity to develop good sleep habits
6. Be gentle and non judgemental with yourself (netflix is there for a reason)
