Most people are creating scalp problems trying to fix them.

Clarifying shampoo works a lot like antibiotics — it doesn’t just remove the “bad.”
It strips everything.

Oil. Buildup. Barrier. Balance.

The issue isn’t the product itself.
The issue is that most people don’t have the education, product pairing, or pH awareness to use it correctly.

Most clarifying shampoos:
• Completely strip the scalp
• Do not list their pH
• Require intentional follow-up to restore balance

Your scalp is designed to live around pH 4.5–5.5.
When you strip without restoring, you create the cycle:

Too oily → strip
Too dry → overload moisture
Too oily → strip again
Color fades
Hair feels off
Scalp becomes reactive

Then the blame goes to your color.
Or your stylist.
Or your hair type.

Meanwhile, big corporations keep selling the “solution” to the micro-problems they helped create — so you buy more products, stack more steps, and still feel stuck.

This coven member’s scalp was presenting with moderate buildup that had been sitting for quite some time.

I’ve learned that “tackling” buildup with shampoo first is like walking uphill with a 75‑pound backpack.
Sure—you can do it.
You might even build calluses.
But that’s not the goal for the scalp.

We want a clean, smooth foundation so hair can grow freely—not fight its way out.

At Eden, shampoo is never our first step in a ritual.
It’s usually the third… sometimes even the fourth.

I think about scalp prep the same way I think about laundry.
If a stain dries and you throw it straight into the wash, it doesn’t come out.
You have to pre‑treat it first—reactivate what’s been sitting there—so it can be gently removed.

For this client, I knew there was irritation living underneath that buildup,
so I chose a probiotic serum to softly loosen what was stuck, soothe inflammation, and begin restoring balance to her scalp barrier—without force or aggression.

After perming my relative and it
NOT taking twice and leaving her hair in worse condition it sparked an unquenchable thirst to not only understand the foundations and fundamentals of hair but to apply it everyday.
This has truly allowed me to bend " theory" because i know what hair is constructed of and how to rebuild and regrow it inside out and outside in.
