There’s something really special about local women-owned businesses coming together to support local moms. 🤍

When I started putting together Back to School, Back to You, I hoped a few local businesses might want to be part of it.

Instead, these women showed up in such a big way.

Fifteen local women-owned businesses have generously contributed products, services, gift cards, experiences, and more—all to help us create something special for moms during the back-to-school season.

Today’s post is simply about celebrating them:

The women behind the businesses.
The businesses behind the giveaway.
And the community that makes something like this possible.

Take a look through and meet the incredible women helping bring Back to School, Back to You to life. 🤍

Prize details and how to enter are coming tomorrow! The giveaway will run from tomorrow through Monday, and winners will be selected next week.

🎒 BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO YOU 🤍

Backpacks packed. Schedules coordinated. Forms signed. Drop-offs figured out.

Everyone’s ready for a new school year.

But what about Mom?

This September, Metanoia Therapy Collective is doing something a little different.

I’ve teamed up with 14 local women-owned businesses to celebrate the moms and mother figures who spend so much time taking care of everyone else.

And these women SHOWED UP. 🤍

Beauty. Self-care. Movement. Food. Jewelry. Local handmade goods. Photography. And more.

We’re turning it all into something really special.

BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO YOU
A giveaway for moms, powered by local women-owned businesses.

Multiple prizes. Multiple winners. And a whole lot of reasons to make a little more room for yourself this school year.

✨ Full details + our incredible participating businesses coming next.

Because back-to-school isn’t only a fresh start for the kids. Maybe Mom gets one, too.

Such an important reminder as we head into a new season. 🤍

Support doesn’t have to look like a “perfect village.” Sometimes it looks like sharing the nighttime load, accepting help, lowering expectations, checking in with someone you trust, or simply admitting, “I need a break.”

Love seeing fellow therapists in our community continuing to normalize honest conversations about postpartum mental health and the support moms deserve.

Sharing this one from Larkspur Therapy Collective LLC because moms were never meant to carry all of it alone. 🤍

Facebook memories really do know how to humble you. 🥹

One year ago, I was sitting here preparing to speak at PAK Pediatrics’ Breastfeeding Symposium about postpartum mental health and breastfeeding — equal parts honored, excited, and absolutely convinced someone had made a mistake asking me. 😂

I literally wrote, “my imposter syndrome is beyond real.”

Looking back at this now feels a little different.

So much has changed in a year, but one thing hasn’t: how deeply I care about supporting women and mothers through the parts of motherhood that don’t always get talked about enough.

There are still plenty of moments where I question myself, overthink, or wonder whether I’m “qualified enough” to take up space in certain rooms. But I’m learning that sometimes you don’t wait until the imposter syndrome disappears.

You just keep showing up anyway. 💙

Very grateful for the version of me who was nervous and did it anyway.

💭Your turn — what’s something your imposter syndrome has convinced you to believe about yourself that probably isn’t actually true? 👇🏼

Spent my Sunday morning volunteering with MAMABIRD NEPA, helping stuff period kits and backpacks with school supplies for local kids heading back to school. 🤍

MamaBird’s mission is one I’m incredibly proud to support. They work to provide women, mothers, children, and families throughout NEPA with essentials that are so often overlooked—diapers and wipes, period products, postpartum recovery supplies, school necessities, and more.

Because these things aren’t extras. They’re basic needs.

No child should walk into school worried about whether they have the supplies they need. No girl should miss school or feel embarrassed because she doesn’t have access to period products. No mother should have to choose between buying diapers, caring for herself postpartum, paying a bill, or putting food on the table.

What MamaBird provides goes beyond the items inside a kit or backpack. It’s dignity, confidence, relief, and the reminder that someone in your community cares enough to help.

As a therapist, I know how deeply our circumstances impact our mental and emotional well-being. We can talk about mental health all day long, but supporting people also means recognizing the very real needs that exist outside of the therapy room.

And that’s a small piece of why the word Collective means so much to me in Metanoia Therapy Collective. True community care takes all of us—different people, organizations, resources, and missions coming together to support the whole person.

Today, though, I’m just grateful to have spent a few hours supporting the incredible work MamaBird is already doing right here in NEPA. 🫶

If you’re not familiar with their mission yet, they’re absolutely worth getting to know and supporting. 🤍

New photo (rare occasion), so it feels like a good time for a little reintroduction. 🤍

Hi, I’m Savina — LCSW, therapist, and founder of Metanoia Therapy Collective.

I started Metanoia because I wanted to create a therapy space that feels human. Warm, real, collaborative, sometimes challenging, sometimes funny — and never a place where you have to show up with everything perfectly figured out.

Honestly, I love the messy middle.

The “I know why I do this, but I keep doing it anyway.”

The “I don’t even know what I’m feeling.”

The “wait…is that actually what I want?”

The overthinking, relationships, boundaries, grief, motherhood, identity shifts, life transitions — and especially those little moments when something finally clicks.

Therapy, to me, isn’t about becoming an entirely different person. It’s about getting curious, understanding your patterns, learning what you need, and becoming more connected to who you already are.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom of two, wife, iced-coffee loyalist, audiobook listener, traveler whenever I get the chance, and very proud of my Greek roots. OH, and NYC will forever have a piece of my heart — because iykyk, it’s New York or nowhere.

And the name Metanoia really sums up why I do this work — a transformative change of mind, heart, and way of life.

Not becoming someone new.

Becoming more you. 🤍

Whether you’re a client, another therapist, part of the NEPA community, or you just happened to find your way here — hi. I’m glad you did.

Today reminded me why I love what I do.

Three clients walked into my office carrying completely different stories.

One celebrated finally reaching a place of acceptance after grieving a relationship that no longer served her.

One unexpectedly allowed herself to process a loss she’d been avoiding for far too long.

One shared that someone else noticed the confidence she’s worked so hard to build—a confidence that’s now showing up in her relationships and in the risks she’s willing to take.

Different stories. Different seasons. The same truth.

Healing isn’t just about feeling less anxious, less sad, or less overwhelmed. It’s about how your healing begins to ripple into your everyday life—how you show up, the choices you make, the boundaries you set, the risks you take, and the peace you allow yourself to feel.

Sometimes progress is quiet.
Sometimes it’s obvious.
But it’s always worth honoring.

Sometimes even therapists need to take a step back.

The past couple of weeks have been filled with family, travel, rest, and the kind of moments that reminded me why slowing down—and truly being present—matters in the first place.

As much as I love showing up here and creating content, I also believe in practicing what I encourage my clients to do every day. Rest isn’t something we have to earn, and being fully present with the people we love isn’t time taken away from our lives—it’s part of living them.

So if you’ve been feeling guilty for slowing down, consider this your reminder that it’s okay to pause.

The world will always ask for more of us. The people and moments that matter most ask us to simply be there.

I’m grateful for the time away, and I’m looking forward to being back here with you. 🤍

As you head into this week, let this be your reminder:
𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆, 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.

This stopped me in my tracks. 🤍

So many of us, especially parents, carry the belief that we have to earn our worth by doing more, giving more, achieving more, or being everything to everyone.

But worth isn’t something you prove.

It’s something you already have.

Emmy Rossum’s reminder is powerful: sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves and our children is permission to stop trying to be “enough” for everyone else and simply be ourselves.

Healing often begins when we loosen our grip on perfection, release impossible expectations, and recognize that our value was never dependent on productivity, sacrifice, or how much we can carry.

✨ You don’t have to do it all to be worthy.

What expectations have you been carrying that you’re ready to put down?
