Shantell “Princess” Pooser, 17, became American Airlines’ first-ever honorary flight attendant and proudly brought her dream to life.

Living in South Carolina with Down syndrome and a terminal airway condition, Shantell spent years traveling for medical treatment. Those flights sparked a love for aviation and inspired her dream of joining the cabin crew. American Airlines helped make that moment possible with her own uniform, silver wings, and badge.

Shantell walked the aisle, demonstrated safety instructions, and handed out snacks as passengers and crew celebrated her. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that dreams, courage, and joy can still shine through life’s hardest moments.
