Prior to completing his pain management fellowship in Ohio at the University of Toledo, he earned his medical degree from the esteemed Loma Linda University School of Medicine, in Loma Linda, CA, and a degree in Anesthesiology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Keeping in line with the mission of his alma mater, Dr. Koning is committed to providing a comprehensive and holistic approach in caring for those with chronic pain, and tailoring treatment options to fit each patient’s unique individual need. Understanding that pain can affect every aspect of a patient’s life, he utilizes a multi-dimensional treatment approach that can include physical therapy, psychotherapy, medications, and injections.
