When Patient Advocacy Means Not Giving Up.

When a patient was referred to LUX Infusion, she had been unable to receive her prescribed infusion therapy for four months due to a complex insurance issue. Her health had declined significantly, and her family was desperate for a path forward.

Our reimbursement team got to work. But after days of calls, conflicting answers, and dead ends, the issue remained unresolved.

That’s when Kelley at LUX Infusion stepped in.

Kelley spent countless hours working with the patient’s health plan, determined to find the source of the problem. She kept calling, asking questions, escalating, and advocating until the patient’s therapy was finally reapproved.

When the patient’s husband heard the news, he broke down in tears.

A week after his wife resumed treatment, he called again—this time to share that they had gone out to dinner together for the first time in five months.

For this family, navigating an insurance barrier wasn’t simply an administrative task. It meant helping remove an obstacle that had kept a patient from accessing prescribed care.
