Kobitta Chopra, LMHC, MCAP

Kobitta Chopra, LMHC, MCAP I am a Licensed Psychotherapist with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. My degree is from Florida International University.

I am eclectic in my orientation and offer a holistic, integrative approach to client centered therapy, using cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, stress management, meditation and yoga practices which I learned growing up in the Himalayan mountains. I empower individuals to overcome personal obstacles, such as alcohol and substance abuse, anxiety and depression, eating disor

ders, self-harm and feelings of emotional abandonment. I enjoy working with clients from multicultural backgrounds. I have a particular passion and expertise working with teenagers as they struggle to define their identities, cope with the rapid physical, emotional and psychological changes that take place within themselves and as they adjust to the demands of peers, schools, families and society. My experience in this field comes from working at Inspirations for Youth and family and Henderson Community mental health agency. While helping teenagers I like to collaborate with parents, school counselors, pediatricians, and others to provide optimum level of care. I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere in which the client can safely explore and work through feelings, thoughts, belief system, (conscious or unconscious), that may be keeping them stuck. I temper the process with creativity, humor, imagination along with practical solutions and concrete goals.
