I can tell you until I’m blue in the face that our jewelry is generally MRI-compatible, but unfortunately, hospital policies are hospital policies, and sometimes they require you to remove EVERYTHING.

If you have to take your jewelry out, the sooner you get back in here, the better!

Piercings can shrink or close surprisingly fast, even ones you’ve had for years!

Don’t force your jewelry back in. Come see me! We can figure out what’s still open, what can be safely reinserted, and get those holes looking pretty again🩷

HEY, PIERCERS. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THESE TINY BACKS FOR A SECOND? 👀

If you’re using these little 2mm backs on fresh cartilage piercings, I’m gonna encourage you to reconsider.

📸 Pictured here is one of the backs we use for initial cartilage piercings compared to the tiny 2mm backing I recently removed from a client’s ear.

Cartilage piercings swell. And when you’ve got a tiny backing pressing against swollen tissue, you’re increasing the risk of excessive pressure and potentially embedding.

I’m digging A LOT of these out of people’s ears lately.

Sometimes a tiny change in the initial jewelry you choose can make a HUGE difference in your client’s healing experience. 🩷

And if you’re a piercer who’s noticing a lot of clients coming back with healing issues, or you just have questions about jewelry selection, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I would much rather help another piercer troubleshoot an issue than continue seeing clients struggle with something that could potentially be prevented🩷

Apologies if the shop looks a little rough this weekend! Just a little FYI: pretty much everything you see here has been done by me or another woman (occasional man) along the way.

We might swear the entire time, question every life decision we’ve ever made, and wonder what the f**k we’ve gotten ourselves into, but we do it ourselves.
