Diocletian’s Palace is an ancient Roman fortress and retirement residence built for Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the 4th century.
Located in present-day Split, Croatia, it is the largest and best-preserved example of Roman palatial architecture in the world and serves as a bustling, UNESCO World Heritage site.
The klapa tradition (“Group of friends”) in the Vestibule is a world-renowned, live a ca****la musical performance that takes advantage of the ancient Roman structure’s flawless acoustics. Klapa is a traditional style of polyphonic singing from the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, and it has been officially inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
Being able to experience this during our recent women’s trip to Croatia was 10/10!
The video doesn’t do the acoustics justice!
Have you experienced a live performance like this before??
Where should we take our women’s group next?
