Henry transports us into the past with tales of how it was navigating tattoo culture in the early days of punk rock in metal in Northern California and Seattle. You can really appreciate where tattooing has come from and how it's developed since then, and it's fun learning about all the stark differences separated by time.

My conversation with Henry Kruger is and so far my longest Inkterview. Henry is a smart, thoughtful, kind, down to earth and just overall rad dude. He is insightful, friendly and very open minded. I had the pleasure of spending the weekend at his shop and picking his brain about the history of tattooing.

His studio is Sailor's Grave Tattoo in Eureka, Ca which has been open for about 14 years. Henry himself has been tattooing professionally for what will be 30 years this upcoming September. In total he has nearly my entire life's worth of tattoo experience if you include all the tattooing he was doing before he started tattooing in an official capacity.

This video out of everything so far has shown me just how important this work is, and I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to talk to such an amazing and learn more about the foundations of the career I've committed my life to.
