🧬 What if researchers could test different treatment options on a patient’s living tumor cells and observe how they respond?

That is the idea behind functional precision medicine, an emerging approach explored in a new article from the National Cancer Institute. It may one day complement traditional genomic testing and provide researchers with additional information about individual treatment response. 🔬

This approach is still being studied and is not yet routine clinical care. More clinical evidence, standardized testing, and greater patient access are needed.

At Infuze MD, this research reflects a principle central to our philosophy: no two patients or cancer journeys are exactly alike. đź’™

Hitting the same macros doesn’t mean you’re getting the same results. That’s the part most people miss.

Ketosis is a metabolic state — it doesn’t care where the fat and protein came from. But your body absolutely does. The gap between “technically in ketosis” and “actually supporting your health” comes down to what’s on the plate, not just the numbers on it.

Tracking the state is easy. Building the foundation underneath it takes more intention.

The simplest interventions are sometimes the ones that fly under the radar — not because they don’t work, but because they don’t sound as impressive as they should.

Hydrogen therapy is still an emerging area of research, which means enthusiasm should come with patience. “Early studies suggest” is different from “proven” — and that distinction is worth respecting, especially with anything you’re considering during treatment.
Staying curious about new research is a good thing. Staying grounded in what’s actually established is just as important.

Not all breast cancer is the same — and that distinction can change everything about your treatment path.

Two markers, hormone receptor status and HER2 status, essentially create a roadmap for which treatments are likely to work best. It’s not just medical jargon — it’s the foundation of personalized care.

Understanding your subtype means understanding why your treatment plan looks the way it does.

Sometimes the biggest barrier to a therapy isn’t whether it works — it’s whether your body can actually absorb it.

That’s the whole story with curcumin. Its potential has been talked about for years, but oral forms often can’t reach levels high enough to matter. Delivery method can be just as important as the compound itself.

The right form, at the right dose, changes what’s actually possible.

None of these five things happen overnight — and that’s exactly why they get overlooked.

Inflammation, blood sugar, movement, sleep, stress. None of them feel urgent day to day, which is exactly why they’re so easy to deprioritize. But cancer risk isn’t built in dramatic moments — it’s built in the small patterns that repeat for years.

The good news: every one of these is something you have some influence over.

What you eat matters — but so does when. Fasting isn’t just about restriction; it’s about giving your body clear signals of when to rest and when to refuel.

The biggest mistake people make? Breaking a fast with something sugary or processed, which undoes a lot of the benefit you just built up. How you break the fast is just as important as the fast itself.

Simple rule: hydrate with intention, refuel with real food.

Not every therapy needs to be dramatic to make a difference in how you feel day to day.

IV vitamin C is a good example of research still catching up to clinical experience — some benefits are well-established, others are still being studied. That nuance matters more than a simple “yes it works” or “no it doesn’t.”

Quality of life during treatment counts just as much as the treatment itself.

You don’t have to go fully vegan to make a real difference. That’s the good news.

Nutrition advice can feel overwhelming when it’s framed as all-or-nothing. But the research keeps pointing to something simpler: consistent, small shifts toward more plants — not perfection — is what actually moves the needle over time.

Progress over pressure, every time.

Sometimes the most promising cancer research doesn’t come from a lab-made drug — it comes from something that’s been used for centuries, just repurposed through a modern lens.

What makes compounds like this worth paying attention to isn’t hype — it’s that they’re being studied with the same rigor as any other therapy, including safety over time. That distinction matters when you’re deciding what’s worth bringing up with your care team.

Complementary options are most powerful when they’re part of a plan, not a substitute for one.
