In 1963 I was diagnosted with type 1 diabetes. I had a brother who was 2 years older than I who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 16 and at the age of 36 he died. He died from a cerebral hemmorrhage that was caused from his diabetes. Three months after he died I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was immediately put on Insulin, told what not to eat, told what to eat and that was to keep me healthy. Well that advise didn't work because after seven years I started seeing some of the same symptoms that my brother had and I became very worried that the same fate awaited me if I didn't change something in my life. God put someone into my life, a complete stranger who invited me to a Shaklee meeting because he told me he thought he had something that would help. I like so many others did not go to that first meeting because I thought what makes this man think he has something that will help me when the doctors couldn't do any more for me. In fact the man had to ask me four times before I was willing to go and the only reason I went was because I thought the man was a pest and that was the only way I could get rid of him. You see this man told me if I would come and listen and if I didn't feel that the products would help me he would never mention it to me again. I really didn't believe they would work because I had been using other vitamins and I could not see any difference but they told me at that meeting if I could not see a difference in 30 days they would refund every dime I had spent on the products. The truth of the matter is they did work. Now it is 47 years later, I am now 82 years old, and I am in perfect health. After all these years of being a diabetic I don't have all the bad things that happen to diabetics like going blind, having limbs amputated, kidney problems, having to go on dialysis. These things are very prevalent among diabeetics and I don't have any of them but I have been taking these wonderful Shaklee Nutritional Products for 39 years. I don't mind getting older at all when I can feel as good as I do, and be as active as I am. Thanks to Shaklee.
