On World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, we're highlighting the important role hospice and palliative care play in helping patients and families navigate serious illness.

Both hospice and palliative care focus on comfort, quality of life and support, helping patients receive care that aligns with their goals and wishes. Palliative care can begin at diagnosis and alongside treatment. Hospice care is typically chosen when treatment is no longer working or a patient decides to stop curative treatment for a terminal illness, shifting the focus to comfort, quality of life and support for both the patient and their loved ones.

Yesterday, we gathered virtually to celebrate the power of compassionate care with our Non-Denominational Blessing of the Hands ceremony. Led by Chaplain Vicki, we reflected on the significant work we do every day, performed with skill, compassion and dedication.

As Chaplain Vicki beautifully expressed, "Our hands tell a story. Hands that provide strength, and hands that offer comfort. Hands that celebrate the joy of healing, and hands that ease the pain of loss."

Thank you to all who joined us today to honor and recognize the important work of the entire care team. Together, our hands bring comfort and healing to so many.
