If you have melasma, please read this before you book any laser treatment. 🧐
Melasma isn’t just pigment sitting on the surface. It’s driven by inflammation, hormones, UV exposure — and heat.
When skin heats up, pigment cells can produce *more* melanin, which is exactly the opposite of what you want.
That’s why some heat-based treatments, including IPL, can trigger rebound pigmentation and flare-ups in melasma-prone skin.
Picofy works differently. Ultra-short picosecond pulses shatter pigment mechanically rather than heating it, so there’s far less stimulation of those pigment cells.
Swipe through — and if melasma has made you nervous about lasers, come ask me about it in person on September 24. 🤍
