September is National Preparedness Month
When was the last time you checked your family emergency kit?
Emergencies can happen fast. Being ready makes all the difference.
Build a basic kit with these key items:
Water: One gallon per person per day for at least three days.
Food: Non-perishable items for three days and a can opener.
First Aid: Bandages, antiseptic, and personal medications.
Tools: A flashlight, extra batteries, and a battery-powered radio.
Documents: Copies of IDs, insurance policies, and cash.
Pack everything in an easy-to-carry bag or waterproof container. Store it where everyone can find it.
