A trigger point is a tight, irritable band within a muscle that can refer pain to areas that seem unrelated. A tight upper trapezius, for example, can create headache-like pain at the temple. This is one reason two people with the "same" symptom often need very different treatment plans. Identifying where a pain pattern is actually coming from is a core part of what we assess in every visit.
