Public Service Announcement:

Due to unforseen circumstances the Medical Travel office is relocating today to the Poplar IHS. Take a left after the WIC office and we will be in the first office to your right.

Once we are established in the office we will push out our new fax and phone number. We will continue to check our current fax machine twice a day.

All Medical Travel checks for appointments on 9/8/25 will be available for pick up at anytime tomorrow due to Independence Bank having an early closure tomorrow.

Upcoming closures:

8/28/25: Closed all day due to administrative leave being granted to tribal employees in honor of Mr. Ray WhiteTailFeather's funeral services.

8/29/25: Open from 8AM to 12PM, and closed all afternoon due to administrative leave being granted to tribal employees for Poplar Indian Days.

Checks for appointments on 9/1-3/2025 will be available for pick up on Friday.

9/1/25: Closed all day due to Holiday leave being granted to tribal employees for Labor Day.

Please ensure your applications are submitted at least 3 days prior to your appointment with all its supporting documents. If you have any questions regarding medical travel assistance contact our office at 406-768-3262.

❗️Transportation Needs❗️

If you are seeking transportation for an upcoming appointment those arrangements must be made with CHR, IHS, THIP, or Veteran Affairs. Medical Travel is unable to make those arrangements. We are only able to assist applicants with funding.

We kindly ask that you schedule your transportation needs prior to submitting a medical travel application. This process ensures that you receive the proper amount of assistance.

August 2025 closures:

The Medical Travel Assistance Program will be closed at 12PM on the following days for the month of August:

August 15th: Turns Around Celebration
August 22nd: Fort Kipp Celebration
August 29th: Poplar Indian Days Celebration

We urge all applicants requesting assistance to call and ensure we received any faxes you may have sent to our office. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

-$130 mileage
-$100 hotel
-$30 per diem
-$20 es**rt

Riding with transportation
Mileage = $0.00 free transportion
Hotel = $0.00 TH booked and paid for your room
Per Diem = $30
Per diem with an es**rt = $50

Just a friendly reminder we are only an assistance program. We cannot cover the cost of your entire trip.
