Hear Danielle, now a death doula, share the powerful story of how her own near-death experience transformed her understanding of life, death, love, and consciousness.

Outwardly, Danielle was the nurse you wanted in the room when everything went wrong. Inwardly, she was barely holding herself together. A perfectionist and emergency room nurse, she was also living with a hidden op**te addiction while masking deep emotional pain through achievement and control.

After a devastating medical crisis left her bleeding out in the hospital, Danielle experienced a profound near-death experience. In this deeply emotional conversation, she shares her life review, the overwhelming presence of unconditional love, the light she encountered, and how this experience ultimately led her to become a death doula—helping others approach the end of life with greater peace, compassion, and dignity.

At the Blue Water Doula Collective, we are honored to highlight the compassionate work of our Steward Members who are helping transform end-of-life care in our communities.

Charlotte Howell, founder of Sacred Passage Doula Care LLC, believes that conversations about end-of-life don't have to be filled with fear. Instead, they can become opportunities for healing, connection, peace, and empowerment.

Through her work, Charlotte supports individuals and families by offering:

Advance Care Planning & Five Wishes
Legacy Building & Life Story Preservation
Swedish Death Cleaning Guidance
Compassionate Family Conversation Coaching
Organization of Important Documents
Educational Programs for Libraries, Churches, Senior Groups & Healthcare Organizations

This month, Charlotte is expanding her services with personalized legacy planning sessions, family conversation coaching, and educational presentations designed to reduce anxiety surrounding end-of-life planning while helping families create meaningful, lasting legacies.

Her heartfelt mission is simple:

"My goal isn't to help people prepare for death—it's to help them live with fewer regrets."

Thank you, Charlotte, for your dedication to serving individuals and families with compassion, wisdom, and grace. We are grateful to have you as a Steward Member of the Blue Water Doula Collective.

Meet the Heart Behind Our Community Grief Circle!

The Blue Water Doula Collective is honored to introduce Emilyne Love and Christian Zia, co-founders of Oak Circle Wellness and the compassionate co-facilitators of our new monthly Community Grief Circle.

Emilyne and Christian are both currently completing their Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and bring a wealth of experience in holistic wellness, psychology, mindfulness, coaching, trauma-informed care, end-of-life support, meditation, Reiki, sound healing, and compassionate presence. Together, they create welcoming spaces where people feel safe to be seen, heard, and supported through life's many losses.

Each monthly gathering is offered in partnership with the Blue Water Doula Collective, whose end-of-life doulas join as compassionate co-facilitators. Together, they help create a warm, nurturing environment where grief is honored through presence, connection, education, and community.

Whether your grief comes from the death of a loved one, the loss of a companion animal, a relationship, changes in health, life transitions, or another deeply personal experience, you are welcome.

All grief is valid.
All grief is welcome.
All grief is sacred.

Community Grief Circle meets on the third Friday of each month from 5:30–7:00 PM at the Blue Water Doula Collective, Huron Point Wellness Center 2379 Military St., Port Huron, MI.
